How do I run 15x10 6LU's?

I'm thinking about buying a set from a friend. I was thinking about running sticky street-able tires.

I currently have GC coil-overs with Eibach springs. I am open to rolling and pulling fenders. I want to autox once a month. I take many short drives so cold tire performance means something. It rains allot so tires that will give me "acceptable" handling in the rain. (I do not drive aggressively in the rain but don't want to just hydroplane on a puddle of water.) I would like 5-10k miles out of the tire.

2. What are good tires that will fit the above bill on a 15x10 and what modifications will I need to run the setup?

I stretch (not extremely wide) 205's on 9" without issues, so 225's could work if you can't find wider rubber that suit your needs.

Buy 15x9s. You will not notice a performance difference between 9s and 10s on a 225mm tire, and the 10" wheel will be substantially more difficult to fit to the car (with regard to fender/shock tower/control arm clearance).

The reason I am considering it is because I might get a deal that could end up half the cost for new 9' w/tires. I don't really mind rolling and pulling fenders but don't think I can cut the wheel arches totally off.. I do have coil-overs installed. I read that spacers in the front can take care of the control arm clearance no?

Buy 15x10s and trade for 15x9s from someone who needs the 10s.
