How much play in the hub is acceptable?

Asking a question I already know the answer to. I acquired a free hub in a trade, went to go put ARP wheel studs in it this morning and noticed there's maybe 1mm of play in it. You can't see it move, but you can definitely feel it. Given that my wheels are going to be attached, I'm assuming that I want absolutely no movement

Oe style hub, correct. Once torqued, zero play. There are a few aftermarket bearing setups that have some play, I think just the mazdaspeed ones.

Sounds like you're seeing this play without it torqued, in which case it's meaningless.
