It's not about lowness..... You can have 1inch of suspension travel, and if you have springs and dampers have suffeicent rates to handle the strain put on it by the car, you'll be fine. BTW, the Miata suspension hits the bumpstops ALL the time... apparently it doesn't do a very good job at "hadling".

dude im not a troll, I just ride my car on STREETS not on tracks and parking lots -- you people call the hinda people 'ricers' but its this lowered miata crowd who does all this 'safe racing' with garbage suspension set ups and pretends like they're boy racers.

The lowered miatas at the gap were right there with the HARLEYS put putting along.. too afraid to take turns HARD.. why? Becasue on the STREET a lowered miata GIVES NO WARNING BEFORE A SPINOUT - HENCE YOU CANNOT DRIVE CORNERS TO THE MAXX!

It's easier to drive.... and that's why it's easier for those who are overconfident with their ability. Blown OEM shocks, body roll, and understeer keeps guys like you alive.

I posted a video - LISTEN TO THE TIRES - that gives you a CLUE to what was going on in a STOCK MIATA -- YOU lowered people simply cannot do that!! Theres NO WAY you can push a lowered ride to SCREEEETCH in to a turn like that! You will spin out, thus you take it SLOW becasue, even though you handle like a go kart you must YEILD to the NUMBNESS of the suspension feedback (ie body roll)
The only THING on the dragon out of hundreds of vehicles that was FASTER than me was ONE sportbike! ONE! Everyone else pulled over - lowered miatas included!

I LOVE embarassing ANY lowered ride with my stock springed miata -- they think lower = better UNTIL they get to a TURN in THE REAL WORLD (not a track!)
