So I went to Napa and ordered a GM truck transmission mount for $10. I will probably connect the brace to the PPF with the tranny mount in some fashion.

​​​​​​Not sure how I will connect to the PPF. I could drill a couple holes but I am not sure that is such a bright idea. I might just make a clamp that catches all 3 sides of one of the triangular holes. Maybe I can use the existing holes for wiring, I think they are pretty small though.

I pay all my monthly bills on Monday and then I will most likely be ordering the Beatrush rear brace I linked earlier from Rev9. It came out to $230 shipped. GWR has it for $234 before shipping and has a warning that it could take 6-8 weeks to ship in the first place. Rev9 promises it will ship within 10 business days.

I wonder if they have the PPF brace for shipping in 10 days also. The 6-8 week thing helped me decide to go my own route.

I did get the middle cross brace in and checked out some things for the front brace, no apparent difference.

I am now scrapping the tranny mount idea. Instead I think it will be easier to make a small addition to the brace that will fit the bottom of the PPF before I bolt it on. I am going to use a small hunk of silicone coupler to insulate the brace from the PPF. Then I plan to mount it to the chassis with bushings of some sort. Hopefully the vibration will be isolated enough for me to be happy, if not I may just put it on for race nights.

The mid brace is so close to the PPF diff blots, I could perhaps connect there. I will try the front brace for now though.

Yes, the Rev9 site says the PPF brace will ship in 10 days too. From looking at the pics, I don't know if it requires you to use their rear subframe brace too? You remove the rear-most cross-brace from the subframe brace, then bolt the PPF brace to the rear-most control arms housings, then to the PPF bolts. It triangulates the rear control arm mounts to the PPF.

As long as the install isn't annoying because of having to mess with the PPF bolts, then I was thinking of getting both and trying out the combo on the street. If it buzzes too much, then I will simply remove the PPF brace and just run the subframe brace on the street, only adding the PPF brace back for the track.

I may grab one at some point, I am so close with my forward brace idea now that I want to try it first. I might even tie the front brace to the PPF with a tow strap to try it out, since I am only trying to keep the PPF from moving up.

I ordered the Beatrush brace today, along with a brake duct kit from TSE. I will update with how long the Beatrush brace takes to ship.

Here is my PPF brace in a very experimental state. I plan to try a few hard launches and see if there is any evidence of that rope getting pulled. I am trying rope instead of a welded piece in case there is a problem with bracing the PPF in this way that I have not forseen.

I plan to soft mount to the chassis with some bushings I am looking at, but for now, washers will do.
