Koni Race with 6" spring - Circlip height?

I'm putting on a set of Koni Race's with 700/450 6" springs on Koni coilover sleeves - Do I put the circlip at the highest setting with these since that's the only place the spring actually touches the bottom of the top hat when off the car, fully extended? Or do I place it just lower than that so I have more lowering room?

I asked Koni NA and all they could really say is "probably at the highest". Tried searching with no luck - anyone have a similar setup?

it doesn't matter, the spring sits on the perches. The sleeve rests on the circlip, so poistion it in a fashion that allows for a good range of adjustability for the perches, and not too high that the sleeve sticks out past the shock body or something.

youll need to set the perches lower than 0 preload if you want the car to sit at a ride height of less than 4x4.

thanks, is there a good way to determine the best setting without trial and error. I don't want to have to touch up the paint every time i move the clip (it scratches the paint and leads to the strut/shock body rusting)

I was going to run torrington bearings in the front on top of the springs since i am using those 2.5" spring adapters and the spring sits better on them without the bearing on that (i guess i could run it under the adapter too, but the bearing ID is bigger than the perch so it moves around). I don't want the springs to become unseated at full droop - or would that happen?

I had 6" 450# rears and 7" 700# fronts. IIRC, I ran the circlip at the very lowest groove on the rear shocks and the lowest of the group of 3 in the front. (RACEs have a group of 3 notches and then one notch below that.)

thanks hav, should've asked you from he beginning since i knew you ran them - I ended up using the lowest on all of them since the second lowest in the rear still put the sleeve slightly above the body. it is pretty low right now but I think I'll be able to raise the rear high enough - hopefully at least!
