koni's on stock springs

Pretty much decided on this setup as its mostly a dd. I'd like a small amount of lowering. just a few questions. I know im going to get new bumps, but do i go with 46 or 36. Secondly is it worth upgrading to fcm mounts? What amount of lowering would this give me? i run 195 50 15 tires. will i rub? im not a big fan of body work so im trying to avoid that

195's will not rub, no worries. you could fit 225s without body work as well.

Get 36mm linear bumpstops...period.

When I ran stock springs on Koni yellows I had the FCM 54mm bumpstops, which have since been superseded by the 46. On the 36/46 debate, you might call Shaikh and ask what he recommends depending on how much you plan to lower the car but you'd probably be fine either way if it's just a DD.

The FCM mounts will give about 1/2" drop, and the Konis have three different levels where you can set the lower perch. I had mine on the middle perch and I'd get a little bit of rubbing on the fender liners (even with 195s on stock 14" wheels) when encountering dips in the road. It kinda sucked for autox or track, rubbing frequently in corners, but for the vast majority of street driving it was never an issue.

did konis with stock springs...might as well grab an ebay coilover kit while you are at it.

Yeah, friend of mine runs the ebay coilovers, they are easily as good as my ground controls, and super cheap.

FYI, I took koni sports, had them put in the race valving, and the car is silky scary smooth with 750 lb springs and majorly bad roads. Koni makes some nice shocks.
