Latest wheel hub trends, i.e., whats hot?

Yes, I've searched. Most of the posts have since become dated looking at what the parts suppliers are supplying.

I'm currently repainting the the control arms and spindle casting and now seems like an appropriate time to address the wheel bearings. My OCD desires new shiny parts; however, the once 'NTN' bearings are not $140+ and the Timkens have disappeared of RockAuto.

The car will see the occasional AutoX day on 15x8 6ULS with the stickiest street tires I can afford (e.g., Rivals, RS3, ZZII, etc.) so it is not as if the hubs will be torchered with 20 minute sessions on 225 hoosiers.

So, do I:

- Throw my perfectly operational 75K mile OEMS back on?
- Suck it up and repack the OEMS with fancy grease at the risk of fucking up an expensive seal?
- Buy cheapo Dorman bearings which are like shit and worse off than 75K OEMS?

they do have the wheel bearing/hub assembly. TIMKEN fronts are 80.79 for the bearing/hub

You're right. Rock Auto's mobile site showed significantly fewer options (2x, Dorman and some shit brand). The standard site confirms your inputs. Weird.

I would vote for repacking your old oems if they are still good. Then when its convinient buy one or 2 hubs as a spare and repack those at a leisurely pace so when the old ones go out youll have a spare ready to go. Thats what Ive done. So far the front hubs of unknown mileage are still good. Im at 156k miles on the car.

for auto-x those oem ones are fine, no need to repack.
