Default minor issue with the 6UL's

I put them on Friday and had them off Monday to swap out my front rotors, discovered that the nickel "coating" where the lugs go started flaking off!! Are they really that cheaply made?? Man I miss my Panasports, they were definitely a superior wheel in build quality. Anyone else had any similar issues?

I'm sure you contacted Emilo before posting here right?

My gen 1 nickels have a lot of chips too. I am not too impressed with the finish quality on them but I love the wheels themselves. I will probably have them refinished eventually.

um..you're not complaining about the finishing coming off where the lug contacts the wheel, right?

I'm pretty impressed with the finish quality so far.

I'm running the 2-piece mcgard lugs and have not had any chipping on my nickel 6uls.

If it's right where the lug rubs on the wheel, I would not be surprised at all, but if it's just where the socket bumps around the lug, I would say contact Emilio. My silver ones have been flawless (except when they rub, but that's not the wheel's fault)

Yes, they are that cheap... might as well get rid of them now before all the finish comes off. I'll give you a couple hundred bucks for them because i'll have to spend a couple hundred bucks getting them refinished.

Ding Ding Ding! Yes he is!

I don't know about him but I want the paint gone there. Helps with keeping lugs torqued at the track.

The nickel is gone where the lug contacts them on mine, which I'd say is to be expected given that it's a painted finish. It's not like you see that area when they're on the car, so who cares?

Mine are chipping in a lot of spots other than the lugs. Where the lugs are I would expect to chip.

Where? Are you running street tires or R's?

I think your desire to be with a man has little to do with 6ULs.

Azenis. I bought them second hand for cheap enough that I didn't care about the chips. I know the previous owner and doubt he was rough enough on them to warrant the damage they have though. I really don't care for the nickel finish anyways and plan to re-do them in gunmetal w/ a machined lip like the SSR Comps they replaced.

Mine have a lot of chips, but they are Sav's old track wheels so it's to be expected. That said I would like info on have them redone.

It is where the lug nuts contact the wheel, otherwise they do look great and are a tad lighter. So for the cheap price I will just be careful with them and hope they last.

wah wah wah, my pretty wheel has a nick, wah wah wah. Its a shitbox budget gay-dude ride, not a Ferrari. If you don't like it, but Volks for 3x the price and quit crying like queers.
