MMR diff mounts

1 Attachment(s)
So I recently bought the MMR diff mounts for the rear end but I'm rather perplexed to the installation. On stock mounts they have a lip that gets sandwiched between the diff arm and the body. So do I do the same on the mmr mounts? Drop the bushings in from the top so they sandwich between the body and the diff? or install them from the bottom so they hold the diff in place?

It doesn't say what side to mount them on.

Same way the stock mounts went in.

How's the difference with them.

Thinking about getting some while the car is down.

They are worthwhile IMO. They transmit a bit more NVH but nothing unlivable (like MMR engine mounts).

well I've never put stock ones in.

And.....that pic is inconclusive. Is that the top side of the diff arm or the bottom????????

It's being hammered in from above dude, christ. Time for a new prescription?

Ok. Was that so hard? Because that's what I did. Hammered them in from the top... the only thing is the diff slid off the mounts and was hanging like a monkey holding onto a branch with one hand.

Did you install the oem plates under the mounts? its the thing pictured in the top right in this link ( http://www.949racing.com/server/17493.pdf )

Madboy 11-17-2009 10:26 PM

AH!!! see I didn't have those. THANK YOU SO MUCH! The car had been messed with so god knows what else I'm missing. Thanks again.

ZX-Tex 11-17-2009 10:51 PM

Holy shit... Good thing you caught that before you went for a drive.

Madboy 11-18-2009 12:06 AM

Just to the muffler shop and back. I thought there was something wrong with the clutch so I got under the car and um.. yeah. lol

cjernigan 11-18-2009 12:43 AM

Yeah bet it was fun driving a car with a differential falling out.

Ok so where can I get those plates? The local salvage squished their miatas.

kotomile 11-18-2009 08:29 PM

Wow dude, no wonder you didn't know how everything went together if it wasn't right in the first place! Sorry for my impatience then.

Madboy 11-19-2009 01:59 PM

Well thanks. I appreciate that dood. You wouldn't happen to know where I could get that piece thought would you?

ZX-Tex 11-19-2009 02:42 PM

Rosenthal Miata?
Finish Line / Rosenthal Mazda Parts & Accessories :: Miata / MX-5
Also check the part out threads in the for sale section. IIRC Levnubhin was doing some whole car partouts.

I'm in the process of swapping to the FM stainless diff mounts. I think i still have those plates, but i'll have to run and check. shoot me an email.
