My Stewart Development shock review
Bernie set my front shocks up for 450#-550# spring rates. I decided to go with what I think are 520# front springs in conjunction with ISC top hats. I decided to use 3/8 inch spacers to limit travel just to be safe. The ride is surprisingly smooth even over expansion cracks in pavement. Most bumps can be felt but not in a harsh sort of way. It takes fairly large bumps to feel unsettled. These shocks are way smoother than Illuminas with 450# springs.
Bernie set the compression at 50#. Now, some tuners claim that in order to get a smooth ride you need a lot of compression. Obviously Bernie doesn't think so and he seems to be correct. He set the rebound at 350# at 2 inch seconds and 400# at 4 inch seconds. I'm currently running stock valved NA HD's on the rear and may consider having them revalved in the future depending on the final spring rates I choose for the rear. Other than the exorbitant amount of time to get these shocks I'd say they are worth the money. |
Edit: I was going to be a dick, and make fun of people that knocked the guy that made one off shit for them, but I will edit.
