NA shock with NB tophat ISSUE, need shank bolt

So FCM won't sell me the shank bolt you need to do a NB tophat on an NA shock. With the bilstein I can't just use a shank lugnut that koni/oem people have used before. The threaded section is narrower... so the lugnut ones are to big. FCM says "I appreciate your explanation and interest in DIY engineering. However, I don't feel comfortable selling one component of an integrated system. " so basically won't sell me a NUT.

Anyone have any suggestions for finding these? (black shank nut in top left corner)

It's all good. Looks like a local machinist is going to make some of the nuts for me.

Screw FCM.

Weren't people using open ended lug nuts from Gorilla for those? It was in one of the threads in this forum before IIRC.

Works for the wider threaded areas on Konis. Bilstein needs a smaller piece.

D'oh reading > me. The only thing that I can think of that use that size for lug nuts might be ATVs.

mcmaster has some threaded couplers that might easily be turned down part way.

Yah, machinist guy is going to take some hex threaded stuff and turn it down into a set.

I'm done with FCM. It's just a NUT... :p

I bought some banjo bolts and tapped them for an OEM Bilstein with NB tops install.

If you're getting some made up, you should get a few sets and sell the extras to cover the job.

Lugnut + M10x1.25 helicoil FTW.

Ask me how I know.
