Default Testing wheel width vs. tire width

Didn't 949 do some testing on this, showing on which wheel a certain tire was widest?

Can't seem to dig it up at the moment. Halp!

I found a post where Emilio was talking about hoosiers and 10" wide wheels... but wasn't what i was looking for.

Sorry for the abortion of a thread. Trying to educate someone, and it's hard to do when you're too stupid to find the original information.

225s on 9s fastest set-up on Earth. Audi runs this on the R18 e-tron, I run this on my Bugatti.
205s on 8s faster
225s on 8s fast...some debate here, probably not faster than a 205, but definitely feels like **** and I'd never drive on it because I demand perfection in my life, and recieve it.

I appreciate the fact that you're willing to share anecdotes with a low-life like me, but i'm looking for the testing.

Full disclosure: I run 245s on 8s on two of my cars and it works well. Ideal? Probably not. Complaints? Nope.

But really... i know Emilio tested this and it's driving me insane that i can't find the write-up.

Whatever you're running (205s or 225s), they're faster on 9" wheels. I have several sets of 205/50s in the shop (Hoosiers and Nittos) but there's not a single 8" wheel to be found.

Send me pics of the SM6 on a 9 like I asked about a couple weeks ago and I might not talk **** about TSE on the forums, much.

And bro.. here you go

2. Increased air volume
a. Lower pressures allow tread to conform to road surface better, improving grip.
b. Increased air volume temperature fluctuates less with thread heating/cooling.

3. Contact patch is increased by decreasing psi loading per unit area (lower air pressure and wider rim). Imagine pressing hard inflated basketball onto ground or mostly deflated basketball onto ground.

a. By lowering loading per unit area, total friction potential per unit area is increased.
b. Tire wear pattern is more even
c. Tire wear rate is improved

In general, a Spec Miata with 205/50 NT01's on 15x7's will run around 39psi hot. The same car with 225/45's on 15x9's will run around 30psi hot
and generate about .25g more lateral grip

In short, the same answer I reply to about 5 emails a week: "9's are faster"

It's not so much the grammar this type, it's your abject retardation and molestation of English Language.

and it's more basic fundamental spelling than grammar. Engrish isn't my first language... isn't even my 2nd... yet I write better than you.
