Need opinions on clutch disc asap

OK, so I'm strapped for time before I pull my engine and replace the clutch disc. Previous clutch is older FM (ACT). I was pretty happy with it, the driveability and engaugement...but life was ~80k...though it's not dead..it's def. very soft.

I need something by Wed and Competition Clutch is local...I can have it by tomorrow. Has anyone on here used CC? Specifically the 6-spuck spring ceramic? I like that it doesn't require any break-in (although clutch dumps and such are not recommended right away...duh) and they're local and seem to be used by a lot of people with other cars.

But..I like the ACT that I've been using..and I'm just stubborn when making changes. Then again, in my 96 and my 99, I did run a Exidy 3-puck unsprung clutch on the street :giggle:

Final verdict...should I get the CC 6-puck for a whopping $150??

i havnt hear anything bad about CC. i have a CC clutch kit sitting in my garage that i bought for my tC. never got to install it cause the car got totaled and hour before the install.

Meh, bought the CC 6-puck. Guess we'll see how it goes!

i think you may not like the ceramic. stick with heavy spring and organic disks.

Why not the opposite? Small furface area + lighter pressure plate (well, ACT PP).
I wish I had more time to debate which way to go, but somewhere in my procrastination I didn't think I'd be tearing into the car this quick...and need to keep downtime to a minimum.

I dunno..the 3-puck wasn't that bad on the street :giggle:
