Bump for updates...I really need the 1.6 clutch soon and am hoping its not going to be another couple of months before a new shipment comes in.
I don't know what it is about these clutches, but 949's supplier needs to get their act together. The ETAs are so unreliable that all I've been getting is "next week", only to get the same response the following week. Not Emilio's fault, but I'd hope some initiative is being taken towards the supplier to ensure adequate supply for the clear demand there is for these or at least something more accurate to relay to customers. Never had this problem when I ordered my XIDAs, BP4W camshaft, Hondata IM gasket, MSM/RB sways, endlinks, and 6ULs.
Now the brake lines and clutch line are out of stock too. Go figure.

949 parts are always on backorder when they initially come out (the clutch isn't that new, but high demand usually lasts a year or so). If you were here during the 6UL x8 and x9 release, you would know this.

We will not update this thread with varying stock levels of the clutch kits or any other item we offer. That's what the live inventory on the website is for.
Sorry about backorder but it's not something I can control until we find an alternate supplier. We are just as frustrated about it as you are, believe me.

Does any one use one of these on a daily driver? I daily drive my '91 and it's due for a clutch. The car has stock power and runs about 6 track days a year.

I don't daily drive mine, however that was part of the reason I bought this clutch. Feels OEM, holds 200+ft/lbs.
I would EASILY daily drive this clutch, and that's with loud exhaust and no carpet.

In about 3 weeks we should have our new 8 lb SuperMiata billet aluminum flywheels for the 1.6. Similar to the Fidanza but heat treated 4340 friction ring and entirely made in the USA. We'll offer them at $299

Miata flywheel compatibility FAQ
1.8 clutch (215mm) requires 1.8 flywheel.
1.6 clutch (200mm) requires 1.6 flywheel.
You can not mix and match 1.8 clutch with 1.6 flywheel or vice versa.
Either clutch/flywheel assembly will fit both 1.6 or 1.8 engines.
1.8 flywheel. Because of the cover support stanchions, the 1.8 flywheel will never be as light as the 1.6.
Note the simpler shape of the 1.6 flywheel

Emilio - Would you advise this new clutch for a built motor 2860RS trying to get to 300hp but not anything over that, daily driven ?

My 02 never exhibited such behavior then again it has such high km's when I bought it that the clutch most likely was replaced once.
Emilio have you driven the combo you have suggested as well? What can you tell me about slip and feel with your ceramic 4 puck compared to a full disk? This will be in a daily driver so I'm going to encounter traffic. Yes I can leg press more plates than my friends and I ride mountain bikes a few times a week but it doesn't mean I want to work out whilst driving and have hurky jerky starts.
I'm comparing yours to the FM2 for my needs and they did post some hard data (which everyone likes) on pedal push I've copied here just for future ref.:
18 lbf for the Level 1
26 lbf for the Level 2
22 lbf for a 1996 salvage car, probably stock or stock replacement
25 lbf for a stock MSM
While that doesn't reflect disk material/style it does show PP/finger spring amounts, but really my concern is engagement/dis-engagement feel.

fwiw... I HATE my FM stage 1 happy meal and will be replacing the clutch/PP with the 949 unit ASAP. I've only got like 4k miles on this clutch and I think i'm not even going to wait for it to wear out... just gonna pull it and say FU.

Why do you hate it? I am running an FM2 on a stock flywheel and I am happy with it. I have driven cars with FM1 and stock flywheel and was also happy with those. So what is it that added in one of their lighter flywheels do you not like?
