I used the Ultimates on the track for two events and didn't get any glazing until one of my caliper sliders seemed to have burned off all the grease and seized. I think this cause excessive drag and then the deposits.

I've been using ULT for several years. I like them but they dust like a mother. I too only autoX and am seriously thinking about going back to OEM (for lest dust) since I dont do track days and OEM pads hold up at autoX. I was looking at the carbotech 1521 street pads but don't know if the price justifies the use versus the ULT or the Green Stuff.

Has anyone on here used Satisfied GranSport pads for the street? I was looking at them because of the low noise and dust. Plus Tirerack.com has them for $42 right now. I dont track my car. Just street driven but I am needing to replace the brakes anyways, so I figured why not upgrade.

Hustler please have a look at what I said about the bendix heavy duty pads, I use these in my car and these pads are my choice. I hillclimb my car so my pad requirements are the same as yours.

Pads come in Wednesday. The first place I ordered from failed me. Found them at Nopi.com for $53 shipped.

I know its a bit late to weigh in, but the XP8's don't make a sound. They also have a side benefit of turning a nickel wheel black after a few trips to the store...

So if you managed to make them quiet, please tell me how! |

No clue. I've had them on the wilwood/XP8 combo on all summer and they haven't made a sound. I hated the Hawk pads on the 1.8 brake setup. Every stop light it sounded like I was driving a "hoopty"
|
It's weird that the 8s and 10s seem to make noise, but the 12s are dead silent.

Anyone else find this to be true? |
I could believe that. My HP+s were dead silent on my rears. I could never quite the fronts.
|
quite pads are win.
not quite the same cold bite as the HP+s, but they do grab pretty good. No noise whatsoever. I found a F/R set for $89.99 shipped. If anyone wants my HP+ front pads, they are welcome to them. Have about 1/2 the life left on them. |
I heard good things about project mu pads. I had to look because only a nerdy physicist, proud of how awesome his stuff was, would use mu (symbol for coefficient of friction) in the company name.
Then I looked at the price  Brain: How big of a difference was it going from stock 1.8 to m-tuned big brake kit front and rear? |
a big difference.
