Default BC Coilover, Might be buying used

Alright so this guy that Ive been talking to says that I can have the BC Racing coilovers for the miata for 600$ used of course. Was looking at reviews and stuff and what do you guys think of them for drifting anyway? I know a couple people that use them on the miata but im debating if I should go with these or go with the Stance ones another guy offered me for $850. Everyone says go stance and these BC's looks beat up not to mention that they are dirty as can be. Anyone have them that could give me a review on it or two?

Short ones are rear.

Those don't look terribly beat, just dusty.

I have no idea if they're worth buying.

Guy had them on his car for about a year. Took them off this August. Im not sure if worth buying either. For 600$ cant go wrong and still have enough money to buy something else like my exhaust or even my steering wheel and hub and ill be happy from there also. But I think I want to get the car painted before I start buying any interior parts. I think of it this way. Buy the most expensive stuff first and then the cheaper. I could always find the cheaper stuff at a swap meet or even a garage sale and craigslist also.

You can most certainly go wrong for $600, which is the problem.

True, getting scammed and that other stuff. I told the guy I would think about it. Plus Enjuku is having their black friday sale so I might just order the stance coils while im at it and having brand new ones. Plus they have a gold top and stuff and if I get my roll bar for xmas that is going to get painted metallic gold, which I think would look badass with eggplant purple hahah

Getting scammed was probably last on my list of worries for $600. $600 can and will buy you some pretty terrible coilovers.

Well isn't BC a reputable coilover? I got scammed once online. For 600$ if I was to get scammed, I think it would be the death of me.

This is why you pay via Paypal.

BC as a company is fairly reputable, yes.

My $0.02:

* BC BR Series are a decent budget coilover, I have them on my car for this reason and they have a good reputation in Australia (many cars featured in our "Fast Fours and Rotaries" and "Hot 4's" magazines use them).

* At least with all that dust on them you can see that they don't appear to be leaking (and it's just dust) - if he cleaned them up you wouldn't know

* Unless he's been flogging the car across undulated/unsealed roads, a years worth of use aint too bad.

mgeoffriau, can you elaborate on your "I had those shoes, there were terrible." comment?

In the photo, he appears to be wearing Nike Dual Fusion ST's. Like this:

I owned a pair. They are not good shoes. They felt okay in the store. The first day I wore them, they wore raw spots into both of my heels. Additionally, they were very poorly ventilated...within a few hours my feet were roasting. I never wore them again. I've since moved on to lightweight and flexible shoes with wide toeboxes and minimal cushioning, and haven't regretted it once.

Ahhh, COMPLETELY missed the shoes in the photo.

Thanks for the review on the shoes though, I prefer to hear owner-experiences rather than sales BS :P

What's the cable attached to the top of the 2nd coilover on the left?

None of ours here in Australia come with that.

I'm guessing the cable allows easy adjustment of the fuel-tank-side rear coilover **** while the fuel-line protective plate is in place?

BC, Stance.... etc all entry level coils. i dont think you will see much a different of difference between them (depends on spring rates as well)

collars dont look beat up, meh for $600, they're alright.
