Help.
As I post on here I got my friends nb shocks and Isc racing top hats.
Well we are trying to put them on now and the shaft on the nb shock has a space for something I must not have.
The threaded part is not even close to the top hat so it will not tighten down.

It hard to explain but basicly it will not work. What am i missing?

the isc site only shows instal with na shocks. the nb shock and the space between the actual shock shaft and the nut/threaded area is what is giving us problems?

Please help

The design of the tophat / shock rod interface is quite different between the NA and the NB, which is why folks like FatCat offer modified NB tophats for use with NA dampers.

Long story short: you are trying to install an NB-style damper into an upper mount which was designed for an NA damper. It's not going to work without some creative fabrication.

You just need a spacer to take up the gap. I would turn one out of stainless tube. If you're ghetto you could use a stack of washers. I imagine you'll hit the hood in teh front either way...

Cut off the top of the rod, and rethread the shaft.

and there's a bushing on the bottom as well? doesn't appear to be resting on one.

I might have teh stock NB bushings/washers in a bag somewhere I'll look for them tomorrow if youd want to use them.

That would be great Brain. thanks.
What we did as a temp fix was use the large wash/bumpstop holder from the nb shocks and turned it cup side down in the top hat. It provides the space required but I dont think it allows the shock shaft to change angles as the shock compresses. So the correct bottom bushing from a nb shock would fix that.

ill look today and let you know.
