I guess my best isn't very good. I'm ok with that.

I was hoping this would go better.

Hear you loud and clear.

Working on an update for everyone who has an order in.

In brief, our original supplier for this was the same company that builds our aluminum B6 and BP flywheels. Local company, long term relationship. They gave us a quote and a timeline, we took orders. Turns out, they didn't actually look closely at our drawing before quoting and wanted a redesign, which we provided after they took too long to do it (COVID delays, as you mentioned above), and they said they could do that one but at much higher cost (not a little more. Like 3 times more.)

We had a backup supplier who said they could do low volume previously, but when we tried to move forward they required too many pieces, so they were out (second supplier mentioned above).

Finally, another supplier who has done high volume production stuff in the past reached out to us to let us know they're now willing to do low-volume niche products. They're reviewing our drawing. Then test parts, then production.

As always, if anyone wants to cancel their order and receive a refund, shoot me an email to info@949racing.com.

@matrussell122 you, sir. I narrow my eyes at you.

I got an email this past Friday from 949 that a new supplier was found and a sample was on the way from the supplier so things seem to be moving forward.

Wow that sounds frustrating to deal with. Is the K24 twin disc fly wheel that drastically different from the BP Twin Disc fly wheel?

It's super frustrating. Yes, completely 100% different. Remember that this takes the place of the adapter plate and the flywheel. Clean sheet design.

Sample not on the way yet, but that's the next step from them.

Oh wow I wouldn’t have thought that. But then again, I know nothing about making race car parts. Hopefully you guys continue making progress and we can have our K24 twin disc set ups in the next month or so.

Excellent update, thanks for sharing. It'll be interesting to see what supplier #3 says.
