Removing front spindle.

Hello everybody. I have been having problems trying to remove the driver front spindle. The upper control arm popped out, but I can't get the tie rod end and the lower control arm out. Is there a method to this? I have searched but if I have missed something I apologize.

did you remove the bolt inside the shock mount space or are you trying to get just the tapered part out? For tapered you can try a pitarm puller fork of the correct size but you'll probably bust the seals with it. Either way probably still easier to do it on the bench.

For the control arm mine popped out fairly easy... Remove the bolt, then pull it out. For the tie rod... dunno never had issues getting that off.

Just get in there with the pickle fork and the BFH. Sometimes they need persuading.

Thanks for the replies. I have been trying the fork, but it may be a bit big as all I have accomplished is to squeeze the grease out. To be more clear I am attempting to remove the tapered ends. I will keep smacking it with the dead blow and my desperation.

run and get one of these from harbor freight.

Clamp it on and put some tension on it, then hit it with a hammer. also use a real hammer, you need the impact/shock load to pop it free.

This.
You can just hit the knuckle where the tapered part goes in without that tool, but having the tool loaded with pressure will help get it to pop loose when you shock it with a BFH (I use a 12lb sledge)

If you keep hitting the top of the bolt you WONT get it out as you'll mushroom it.

Thanks for the help everyone, I finally got the spindle off. That tool from harbor really helped, after 2 weeks of frustration I was done in an hour.
