Replacing the trashed shocks and springs...
I have a 2001 Miata... I want good grip, and a quality ride. I will get an alignment afterwards as well.
Are these the shocks I need? Mazda Miata Bilstein B6 Heavy Duty Front Monotube Gas Pressure Shocks and Struts 1999-2005 and Mazda Miata Bilstein B6 Heavy Duty Rear Monotube Gas Pressure Shocks and Struts 1999-2005 I couldn't find anyone selling oem springs.. every spring i find, is "sport" or "race" or "lowering" I found some oem suppliers, but they were selling a "mazdaspeed spring kit" which lowered 34 mm.. I'm not interested in a drop, just good performance. |
Only springs worth getting are the FM springs.
Those billies should work fine. "good grip and quality ride" is what everyone and their mother wants. you'll have to be more specific, intended uses for car, how much grip, how important is comfort, etc etc etc. |
I very seriously doubt that you need new springs, given what I have read in your other thread.
And the Bilsteins that you posted will work fine. |
Ok, I'll keep the springs then...
This is only a "for the time being" setup... To last me until the end of october, then I start the big plans. Just bringing the car back to good mechanical working order for now |
Really? If that's the case, why not just get an alignment and call it a day. Focus on getting the rest of the car up to snuff. Nothing worse than spending money twice.
Also, there can be long wait times for suspensions like FCM or Xidas. |
I'd be happy to buy those used shocks from you in October after you start your big plans for $200.
|
Conealer...
It's a deal! |
I mean the Bilsteins that you're buying now. I'll buy them from you in October.
|
And I'll give you $3.50 for your msm billies when you do. You're welcome

Hey Vlad, wanna see my balls?
|
only if you have nail polish in the background

:rofl::giggle::bowrofl:
|
lol, this forum is awesome... and yeah you have dibs on the Bilsteins
|
I have a "budget" setup on my 1995 that nevertheless rides and handles very well:
- FM swaybars - KYB GR2 dampers - Honda civic front bumpstops, untrimmed, at all corners - Aftermarket shock boots from jegs/summit/ect I also dialed in as much front negative camber as I can get. The car is autocross competent and the girlfriend doesn't complain about the ride. The longer bumpstops act as progressive spring rate adders. |
