Replacing wheel studs.
Anyone know if I can replace my wheel studs with slightly longer versions (56mm top to tail, 40mm long thread) without having to remove the wheel hubs? Car is an NA.

you can do it on the front in a 1.6 bodied car. I've seen it done in the rear of a 1995 too without pulling the hub.
|
supposedly there is a sweet spot that you can pull them out one at a time....some had to grind a little material away.
see m.net, a bunch of threads on it. |
NB here, but should be same. I did all 4 corners, never took the hubs off. There is " sweet spot" where you can drive them out.

Thanks guys, sounds like a little job to keep me busy one afternoon soon.
Should be able to do this with the brake disks and callipers etc in place by the sounds of it? |
BTW what are the specs of the OEM studs?

Hustler,I purchased ARP wheel studs and I plan on installing them soon,so any tips on putting them in painlessly would be much appreciated.

Just check the shoulders. 13mm or 14.85mm shoulder on the lugs. There is a rhyme/reason but I can't remember it.
