6 speed swap turret fitment
so I'm getting close to buttoning everything up after an extensive tear down for some oil leaks(turned 6speed swap). I noticed the forward two bolts for the turret arnt accessible. Everything else seems great. No issues other than this small hicup. It's a 1992 with a 95 block and 02 6 speed. Someone has had to run into this here id imagine.

the trans was installed without that piece. so next step would be to install the turret piece. outside of it not lining up, the bolts for it are way too long to squeeze in the space between the tunnel and the turret. now im sure i can make it work, its all still loose. i can just pull the trans down a bit sand squeeze them in. i just wanted to make sure this is a normal thing. that im not missing something here. all signs to me say full steam ahead. everything is center like it belongs there. i just think it may be a small generational issue, a minute change happened. but sometimes it best to ask those who have been there before you.

Looks like you have 2 choices: break out a grinder and grind yourself some more clearance, or use a tool that will give you better access to those bolts, like maybe a crows foot or a ratcheting box end.

I don't ever touch them, I did not realize that is what he was talking about the first time I read the thread. I only use the 3 bolts that hold the shifter in every time I need to do something with the shifter.
