Please keep us updated because I recently depowered mine and might run into this problem later on.

Wait, is this play only on depowered racks?

I've recently noticed a little play in my steering but don't have a power rack. I guess I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Will do. Not sure I am going to get to it right away. I dont drive the car too much.

I've had a de-power rack for quiet a while now, but ever since I've had the car it's had 10mm ish of wheel play. I hear from some seasoned enthusiast it;s normal. The only thing I have to really bitch about is when I do alignment the wheel is never straight when the car is straight. I set the toe no nearly 2 degrees from one another. Now I have one sided wear on my RA1 toyo.

Straighten wheels, correct toe @ tie rod ends, pull airbag and unbolt steering wheel, center, re-torque down. Once the wheel is straight it's just a matter of adjusting toe with a small level on the wheel to balance steering vs toe.

I fixed the toe problem. After getting her up on the rack I noticed that the outer tierod was destroyed. The wheel play even after adjustment is still persistent though.

After I depowered/welded my rack, slop was revealed on the intermediate shaft at the slip fit section(female end) in the engine bay. I think when you remove power assist it unmasks the existing wear. I tried lock-tite 262 but it didn't last long what so ever. It's going to be hard for pastes to dry and bond correctly in there. I am going to weld it one day.
