I bought my miata with a bad driveshaft u-joint (rear one). 1990 with 133k miles and a broken odometer, according to the title apparently it was 133k on the odometer 2 years ago too though, good thing I'm really only keeping the body and subframes...

I have a 1.6 shaft here with a bad rear u-joint. They can be serviced if you sift m.net for the ujoint part number.

Aluminum shafts will help the tailshaft bearings and pinion bearings last longer.

The front U-joint on my 97 imploded and took out the tail housing on the tranny. This was a week after I bought it. 170K+ miles
