With the amount of work I will be doing this winter, the car will be in the garage (that's GARE-ahj, you continental US cretins) for quite a while, so I'll have time to test fit mine if I want to. And as I now have 8 of them, I can convert them into something else if I need to. But I like to know things in advance.
Bump for wanting to know as well, fitment on factory sport wheels. Was about to order the kit tonight until I saw that they might fit but not for sure. Wouldn't mind being the test mule but I probably wouldn't install until late winter due to it being the busy season at work. (UPS)

I test fit it on my 15" 99sport wheels with a 1/4" and 1/2" spacers and the caliper hits the rim

Yeah, that was already known. Everyone wants to know if the 16's will magically clear.

Are the superlites available in red just like the others?

Yes, they can be had in red. Contact me directly to order (capitalist American e-mail, please, not Bolshevik pinko forum PMs)

Default Superlites or 6 pistons for 17"wheels?

Hi folks, forgive what might be a stupid question about stupid big brakes, but what would have more stopping power, the superlites, or the 6-piston Dynapros? Its obvious the superlight pads would last much longer, but which one would pop your eyeballs out along the road the furthest?
I am running 17 x 9" wheels with 0 offset, so I'm presuming either would fit...
Thanks heaps.

The one with stickier tires.

The two have essentially the same total piston area, so the same force is applied to the rotor. The Superlite is stiffer, so it will make better use of that force. If you are looking to maximize braking grip, you want to upgrade the tires, not the brakes.

I will never recommend a 6-pot Dynapro. They cost a substantial amount more than a standard Dynapro, but don't add enough extra performance to justify that cost. They're really just there for the bling factor.

So I've seen brake ducts done like these on pretty much all Miata's. On other platforms it's pretty common to seal the duct to just the center portion of the rotor hat and force all the flow through the vanes. I would think just blasting air on one side of the rotor would tend to cone the rotor but it must not be a problem or they wouldn't be so widely used like this.

Thoughts?

Has anyone any experience on these now in comparison to the original 11.75" dynalite kit......in particular in a running cooler sense....I would like to stop having to replace directional vane rotors through heat cracking quite so often AND get more life from a set of pads. I know 3" ducts would be better than the 2.5" we run but space is a problem. plus Im a bit skeptical it will be enough of a improvement anyway.

I am quite happy with the current brakes in terms of feel, power and front to rear balance (sport size rears).

Was searching for pictures of fitted Superlite kit (in anticapation) and came across this thread I had forgotten.....Very excited, waiting for kit to arrive.

Hopefully be able to answer my own question within the next 5 weeks (if engine rebuild goes according to plan!).

First race of the season on the 2nd September then the first race of the new Improved Production series with 2 x 30 minute races the weekend after....should have a good idea of the difference by then if everythng else holds together.

To be fair Im hoping to have the upgrade from 1600 to Sport rear calipers fitted by then too so may not be a direct comaprison.
