Suspension NOOB needs help asap(working on car now)

I am now putting the suspension on my miata, Its a KYB AGX/GC setup with base spring rates.

Okay, now i know the stiffer springs should go in the front. Which ones are stiffer, im guessing the shorter ones?

Also i have four shocks, two are bigger compared to the other two. Do the longer shocks go in the front or rear.

Summary: Do the longer springs go in the front or rear, and do the longer struts go in the front or the rear. Please help a suspension noob im working on the car now. Now im guessing the longer springs go with the longer struts but really i dont want to do any guess work on this job.

I already did search, but came up with nothing but frustration.

HELP ME!!

Just found http://www.villacorte.com/miata/gc_coilover/06.html .

Looks like shorter ones are the higher spring rates and thus the fronts as i had suspected.

Also its looks like the longer shocks go on with the shorter springs? Interesting. Okay back to work.

stiff springs and AGX is going to make you hate life in about 2 months when they blow. sell them and get some koni or illumina.

From what I've read the spring rates are in the upper range of the shocks, but not out of the park. Hopefully they will last a year.

Also i figured it all out, thanks.

Future reference to noobs: Yes, the longer beefier struts do go in the front along with the shorter springs. The rear shocks are smaller and have longer springs. Kinda threw me off, lol.

+1, my AGX with FM springs are bullshit 1 year later. But still 150% better than stock.

Fyi after putting a few miles on this setup, I'm in love (I have fcm bumpstops, and stock mounts.) Note to anyone reading: do suspension on your car BEFORE turbo.

Also, two of the shocks were completely blown, as in.. once the springs were removed the shafts sunk all the way into the shock body without any pressure applied other than gravity.

My car is still pretty fugly (desperately needs paint work) but perhaps ill get some pics later. Function>form I guess, heh. One day ill paint it, after all the performance/safety shit is done. Next weekend = MS install.

I've blown through AGX in 1 summer, Illuminas in 2 years. Get FCM-revalved Bilsteins or Koni's.

P.S. It seems that m.net suspension section would've been a much better resource, but, I'm glad you got it figured out.
