Tein Flex setup

Well, since I should be getting my car back this weekend from the bodyshop, it's time to start installing some of these parts that have accumulated in the interim.

First up are my Tein Flex coilovers. Who here runs Flexes? Any comments on ride height and spring preload settings? Did you just set them up as recommended in the guide?

I'm going to be doing this at the same time as my hyperflex bushings. My alignment guy is going to KILL me. :giggle:

EDIT: Car is a '91. I'm looking for around 12.5" ride height. Car will be dual-use autocross/street. Teins have 9/6 kg springs

i run em.

install them without springs or bump stops first.
disconnect sways
set shock length so that you can jack the suspension arm up all the way and have the tire ALMOST rub somewhere, but not quite, when the shock is fully compressed.

repeat x4.

reintall springs and bump stops but do not change shock length ever again.

set spring perch to attain desired ride height and cornerweight.

this method means you can run fairly low and wont waste shock travel. the flex are notoriously short in the rear as it is.
