Torsen swap quick question

Lookin for some advice. :)
Putting a '94 Torsen dif in my '90. Smooth sailing for the most part so far, but where the dif housing mounts to the PPF, there is a spacer in the top of the bolt hole on the new dif, and I can't for the life of me get it to fit in the PPF. My old '90 dif has no such spacer... In the stuff I've read so far no one mentions this spacer being a problem.
Anybody done this type of swap have any advice?
Thanks!!

There is a bushing in one of the holes. You'll need to pry that to the "open/ready to torque" position. Sometimes they freeze up, might take some PB Blaster and cursing. Other than that, it should fit fine.

Conclusion

Just following up, the bolt had a bit of a flared lip on the wide diameter portion. Ground that back to flush and it slipped right in. Thanks for the ideas

Did you replace the diff bushings while you doing the swap? I've heard that they make a considerable difference to the feel of the rear end.

I considered it, and honestly if I'd had more free time I might have done it, but I needed her back on the road asap :P
maybe I'll do it after the turbo goes in. swapping them out now that I know how to do this project would be pretty simple. assuming the old bushings come out without complaining haha. Ive heard stiffer bushings inncrease road noise a lot though?

Can someone elaborate on this. I did the Torsen swap but my mechanic couldn't get the threads on the front bolt to engage. Do you pound the bolt in to slide the bushing upward?

Be careful . . . no cross-threading.

What you want to do is physically align the nose of the diff and PPF (just do it with your hand) so that the bolt aligns perfectly with those threads. Honestly, you should be able to start the bolt with your fingers.

I got it in this morning. Thanks
