Default Rear Brakes - Shroud, remove or keep?

For my track day, fun car I finally got my '94' 1800 subframe installed so have matching 1800 brakes front and rear (stronger and lsd/torsen diff, braced sub frame etc).

I have Carbotech XP10's for the front and about to order XP8 for the rear (as per Emilios suggestion.

After ******** around with a frozen hand brake mechanism on one caliper all weekend I started wondering if the shroud / backing on the disc is required to keep on for the street use it gets?

It seems like access, visibility for inspection etc would be greatly enhanced without it...not to mention potential trouble with heat retention when at the track....

Whats the consensus here, is it usually removed or just ignored...?

Cheers,
Mark

I'd like to know this as well. I know removing the fronts is suggested along with at least some basic ducting zip tied in a fashion that points it towards the disc, but otherwise if a shroud is added it's only worth it if it incorporates a hose attachment.

Not sure if I've seen anyone add ducting to the back. Do it.

While we are discussing ducting etc, Does anyone have any reference photos of how it weaves around the tyre area. I bought some suitable ducting but am struggling to see how not to have the tyre hit it while at any sort of lock.

My IC plumbing does come out in the vicinity so that may be why it's not obvious....photos would help to clarify....

Still interested in the rear shroud if anyone else has anything to add.....
