Weird thumbing sound around 30-40mph
Hi guys, I would like to ask you to give me some suggestions because I have no idea how to proceed.
So after my engine rebuild I’ve obviously stuck my car back together and everything runs fine. However I’ve got a very anyoning thumbing sound when I’m going 30-80kmph and it speeds up and down based on my speed and the frequency is matching with my wheel speed. I did fitted a 2003 torsen diff and replaced the discs and pads for brembo ones, that’s about it what I did to the rear part of the power train The sounds is definitely coming from the rear So what I did was: I jacked the rear up and let the tires spin, but this was without the noise then I tried it with the lower suspension mounts resting on 2 jacks so the suspension would be compressed but again without the sounds, the I pressed the brake a little to load the drivetrain but still no difference. Then I fitted 4 “new” tires to see if that would make a change but also did not do anything. Then I checked my ppf alignment which is all fine Then I checked the wheel bearings but they make 0 noise and have 0 play The handbrake is adjusted properly and the wheels spin freely And all the lugnuts are torqued to spec Here is the sound I’m referring to: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1tvq5-MBweH1s9Eu3AnoqfB7e_9KJGtox/view?usp=drivesdk https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...c76c9d0f2.jpeg |
I think I found it in the bearing
I’ve isolated it to being the bearing of the rear left
