Default offset bushings vs. extended lower ball joint

I installed a set of offset upper bushings last season in an attempt to get adequate negative camber for a good racing alignment. Since then, I ran across a supplier for an extended lower ball joint; which seems a simpler plan.

I think that the drawbacks to the offset upper bushing was that it made tire/shock interference a little more likely, esp with wide wheels/tires; but otherwise left camber curve un-effected. There was also a question of bushing slippage during operation.

I believe that the extended lower ball joint method would give you less problem with tire/shock body interference, but I believe that by increasing the length of the lower control arm it would also increase the rate of camber change (which might be a good thing) and perhaps induce a little bump steer as well.

Has anyone measured after installing these; or checked into this otherwise?

You can put an offset bushing in the lower control arm if you don't want to loose tire clearance.

+1

Would really like to hear from anyone after installing these. It should be (famous last words) a better solution for us with clearance issues.

Whilst things vary from car to car, with ISC offset upper bush to get to my desired settings (at 4.5" front pinch ride height -> 3.5 deg -Ve camber) my camber adjusters are set to about 1/2. I am curious where people installing these end up with similar settings...???

Upper offset bushing is fail.

Either do ELBJ, or offset lower control arm bushing.
