Wilwood superlite caliper bracket and hats where to buy from?
 

Hi everyone, i recently purchased a 2002 nb mx5 titanium, currently just has coilover susspension, wheels and semi slicks as its mods, i have a turbo motor and some other items to be put in but firstly want to sort out brakes.
I have Wilwood superlite calipers i use to use on my old ford laser tx3 race car and was after brackets to fit to my mx5. Trackspeed engineering sell these items but told me they wont sell me the individual parts unless i had purchased a caliper from them which is not the answer to my solution.
Is there another company that i can deal with who will be helpful to my request?

Im after brake ducts aswell and a rear caliper setup now and many more items in the future and told this to trackspeed so i wasnt just after a cheap one off sale but unfortunately they weren't very helpful.

I think you'll have a hard time finding brackets for that. Most who offer them did the research to make those calipers fit the Miata knuckle and amortize the R&D cost into the entire brake kit

I looked at using those calipers as they are well priced and fairly stiff. I found they don't fit 15" wheels very well, both radially and axially (caliper to wheel spoke clearance). They are pretty big calipers. I ended up using Dynapros, they fit well and have a wide range of pads available.

Which Superlites, exactly? Some versions are wider than others, and they mount differently. The narrow ones can fit under certain wheels, the wide ones are too wide. I have 6-piston narrow Superlites on brackets that I machined myself, but that's overkill and silly and I wouldn't really recommend it.

I'm sorry I wasn't able to sell you raw brackets. I cannot afford to sell brackets on their own without the additional profit that comes from selling the caliper. I don't keep the lights on if I do that. You may not realize it, but you are, in effect, asking me to sell you discounted parts.

I'm also not able to spend time helping people figure out which Superlite they might have. Not for lack of desire, but because it doesn't make business sense for me to do so. There are a ton of different variants, lots of different piston configurations, different mounting styles, etc. That you have not indicated from the beginning, either in your email to me or in this post today, which Superlite variant you have (or even that you know there are different variants), says to me that I'll have to spend time (and thus money) helping you sort it out. Or, I skip that step and send you brackets, and then I get trapped into a situation where I have to then help configure your car with the wrong caliper for the application (or decline to provide after-sale support and deal with the public fallout from that).

I would much rather just sell you the right caliper from the start, since I've already done all the fitment and R&D work required to reduce the after-sale support work I would need to do. If that doesn't work for you, that's fine, no hard feelings, but bare brackets are not an option.

I'm sorry I was unable to help you with your project, but I don't think it's remotely fair for you to publicly berate me for declining to sell you discounted parts.

Savington's TSE Big Brake Kits work like a hot damn! I know shipping stuff to Australia is expensive (we have a similar problem, albeit to a lesser extent, up here in Canada) but at least you know you won't have to futz around afterwards to make everything work as intended.
