XIDA-S removing adjustment knob?

So I've been searching for over two hours now and can't find anything specific. I ordered a set of XIDA-S coilovers and the front springs shipped separately. Now I need to remove the top hats to install the springs, but the rebound adjustment knob is in the way. So the question

To remove the adjustment knob, do I just twist really hard counterclockwise? It seems like there is a bit of resistance when just twisting it.

Or do I start undoing the brass looking fitting that is mated up against the shaft right below the adjustment knob?

Silly question with a simple answer, but I don't want to screw something up and have them rebuilt before ever getting them on the car.

There is a small allen head set screw going into the side of the knob, perpendicular to the shaft. Loosen it and the knob will easily slide upwards and off.

Phew, glad I asked. Thanks for the quick answer. Now maybe I can get these put on tonight :bigtu:

it's a 2mm allen set screw on the side. When you re-install the knob, make sure that it's against the flat side of the brass adjuster.

Unless your trunk is stripped out, I highly recommend picking up a pair of these.

Call and ask for the extra long versions, they're an extra $15. Totally worth it though.

You're a bastard for actually owing a set of xidas... :fawk:

Otherwise - good to know for future xida fondeling - that cable adjuster is awesome!

By "stripped out" you mean "remove one panel", right.

There's also that those grey floss looking interior panels held on by 3 plastic clips, and that panel is held in by 3 bolts, but the plastic bin underneath needs to be removed to remove that panel also... I'm lazy, and like a finished trunk :giggle:
