Xidas, bumpstops, and a suspension cam

Cool vid of a camera pointed at a Xida in an Exocet.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfso8iDwego#t=1m42s (right hand sweeper starting at 1:42... cam is on rear left)

Doesn't look like it touches the bumpstop on full cornering unless it hits a bump.

If one follows Emilio's recipe for a streetable track car - Xidas, front bar, 6ULs, and say, 225mm super200 tires - do they touch the bumpstops at full cornering only when hitting bumps?
Anyone done a suspension cam vid on a miata?

"Uh huh."
or
"Sometimes"

Depends on ride height, surface grip, tire condition, chassis setup/alignment, spring rate, bar setting...

As Emilio said elsewhere, that question is way too simple. There are a million variables.

That goes without saying.

That's why I bounded the problem by saying "following the 949 recipe, with super200 tires"...

I found this
Konis, no bumpstops (!), 11.5" rear ride height (3.5" pinch weld rear), 375 lb/in rears, 225 RS3 tires.

Shocks too long, ride height too low (wayyy to low), springs too soft. Nowhere near our recipe.

What is it you are actually trying to conclude Jason? I mean, what is the project you are working on that requires the data?

That car doesnt make enough power or have enough tire to use the suspension. Doesn't mean there's something wrong with the shocks. Can't expect the right rate for a 10" hoosier to work on a 205 street tire., etc
