New from Trackspeed Engineering: Coolant Blockoff and EGR Delete Plates
Just added a couple of new items to our catalog this week.
Trackspeed Engineering Coolant Block Off
For folks using a reroute, this is a much cleaner method of blocking off the front coolant flow. The 30mm freeze plug presses into the head, and the block off plate holds it securely in place. This is a particularly clean option for people who are deleting the plastic timing belt covers.
Trackspeed Engineering EGR Delete Plates
Another simple, effective item. These plates bolt on in place of the EGR valve and tube on the intake manifold. The EGR valve has been known to leak under boost if you don't have it hooked up, so if your EGR valve is just sitting on the engine with nothing plugged in, it's best to get it replaced with our EGR Delete Kit.
Keep an eye out in March for more new items!

Can you run the the block off plate without the 30mm freeze plug? I ended up just hacking my coolant neck and welding a plate of aluminum in. Hoping it doesnt leak (there is an o-ring in there).

^ - what he said. The engine block has freeze plugs in other locations that don't have cover plates to keep them there, why is one necessary at this location?

Nice, this doubles as the freeze plug installation tool.
Sav has said in the past that particular one likes to back out. 30mm fits, although for whatever reason, extra pressure, loose tolerance, etc, they can back out. Hence the plate. I'm assuming it doesn't have an o-ring groove, so I wouldn't think you'd want to use it alone. I haven't experienced the backing out myself, but I did make one for myself just a few days ago.

I wasn't trolling, btw. The outlet wasn't designed to hold a freeze plug, and I totally belive that people have had them pop out without a retainer of some kind.
It's also perfectly plausible (though much less likely from Trackspeed) that they just didn't like looking at a stupid brass freeze plug on the front of the head.
