ORDER NEVER RECEIVED! - FUNDS TAKEN [Resolved]

I ordered and paid for a COP conversion back in June from Trackspeed Engineering.

You guys said that the lead time was "3-4 weeks"

It is now mid August and I have not received any response to my emails, messages on Facebook and you do not answer the telephone.

I now have a very bad feeling about this order!

Regards,

Lloyd

If you indeed ordered something from TSE, you will receive it. Just understand that TSE is pretty much a one-man show. Owner, Operator, Designer, Lead Engineer, Product Assembly, Accounting, Materials Buyer, Shipping, Quality Control, Sales, Marketing... It's all carried out by a single person - a racing miata enthusiast - and this is the most high-stress, high-volume time of year while at the same time being the height of racing season. Local competitions are wrapping up, and the more exacting and competitive regional and national competitions are taking off. If, in the height of the season, something horrible happened (death of a family member, unfortunate and injurious accident at the race track, etc...) then he could easily end up weeks behind schedule AND unable to catch up/respond to emails/phone calls, that would be terribly unfortunate. Alternatively, shipping delays from overseas due to poor weather, boat mishaps, etc. can delay shipments of products for weeks if you were waiting on a product where the shop needed to get a shipment in first before they could distribute to their customers, but if it were just shipping delays, he would be able to get back to your emails/phone calls in a more timely manner. For the COPS, it can sometimes be a PITA to find good quality used COPS. He won't send you anything that doesn't appear new/hasn't been tested. Additionally he must source the plates from a small independent manufacturer - fortunately, he can buy them in batches, so hopefully he has many readily available to him to box up and ship out. Finally, he must source the connectors for the COPS, which he buys new - potentially from a company in Australia? who manufactures connectors on their own schedule, where big OEM orders of tens/hundreds of thousands of pieces take priority, and piddly orders for a few hundred pieces are what they do in their "downtime" before he can assemble the wiring harness.

Bottom-line: TSE is a stand-up company, but when one man has to "call-in" for some unexpected or emergency time off, there isn't another man to answer his phone calls and emails to let customers know "why the delay?". It sucks that you've been without your parts longer than you anticipated; we've all been there. I was there myself with the TSE COP kit a couple years ago. You will get a top-class, well engineered, performance-oriented product from TSE though.

fooger: "its race season" its the worst excuse of all, and should never be used, unless of course its stated prior to taking someone's money for a part, and both parties are onboard with what that means.

That said, Andrew always came off as an honest guy and I'm sure he's not gonna scam you OP.

Kinda surprised he hasn't responded to you since he's been posting here recently. Unless:
1) there is some sort of mis-communication
2) you're not telling us the whole story
3) ?????
4) Something happened to Andrew

I've ordered from TSE many times. No issues. Things happen and I'm sure TSE will fix the issue. There are two sides to every story.

I'm still getting caught up on email and phones, since I was out of the shop all last week at a race, but I did reply to your message on FB a couple of days ago. I'll find your email in a moment and let you know what's going on with your kit. Sorry about that.

e: Fairly sure I found your email, please let me know if my reply wasn't received for some reason.

Ok thanks for the information Andrew.

I will look forward to the kit arriving first week of September.

Lloyd

(Only possible explanation because Andrew is a stand-up guy who performs miracles considering his work load vs. business size)

Issue was resolved to the customer's satisfaction a year ago :)

Reading dates... apparently I struggle with this ;)

But but but... August only happens once a year!
