Thats nifty, is it any where close to a "real" time?

dc2696 07-06-2006 01:57 PM

Well I punched in a buddys time and power and it was lower by almost 1 second. The guy has an 89 Daytona with approx 500whp, car weights 3400lbs and so far hes only managed an 11.9. Granted thats not at sea level and its a fwd car.

Pshh, it says my car should do a 13 flat but the best I could squeeze out yesterday was a 13.8... Granted I was on heavy 16" wheels with bald tires that were discontinued years ago (read: aged and slick) so my launches suffered terribly... But still!

drftem 07-19-2006 11:37 PM

yeah doesnt seem to accurate....

well launches are everything! maybe thats why ???

but yeah there is too much thats goes into getting a good run to trust some calculator on the internet, still kinda cool to play with.......like 600 hp on 100lbs car. lol. but like i said too much comes into play: wheel/tire size, tire pressure, fwd or rwd, altitude, yada yada blah blah etc etc........

dc2696 07-23-2006 09:54 PM

It errs on the side of being faster thats all.

dc2696 07-23-2006 09:57 PM

for my car, I have done lots g-tech runs and (when it was n/a) and ran 15.6 on the street and it says that I should have 110whp...Possible on a 1.8 with intake exhaust I suppose.

Cheesefries 07-25-2006 07:55 PM

seams decently accuate to me, i did a couple friends cars and it was all correct assuming PERECT conditions/driver

sounds reasonable to me

dc2696 08-09-2006 11:30 AM

The thing with the g-tech is you have to launch properlly, no wheel spin/hop has to be smooth.

ColoradoSpringsMiata 08-25-2006 09:14 AM

oh thats why it seemed unrealistic when my friend used one, he always dumped the clutch. i didnt know that. hehe

ienjoydrifting 09-10-2006 09:01 AM

yea its says my car will do 11.9 lol. Yea after 6 trannies and rear ends lol

I learned after my second diff to go bigger, no trannies yet though.

ienjoydrifting 09-11-2006 09:57 PM

Yea i have a RX7 ats deftforce 2 way now. No more breakage

Braineack 09-22-2006 11:21 PM

try this instead:

magnamx-5 09-26-2006 12:58 AM

i have to much wheelspin when i dump the clutch it is kinda funny:)

Braineack 09-26-2006 08:40 AM

you can have it optimize the launch. It seems to take a lot into factoring times. not sure if it's any more accurate...

magnamx-5 09-27-2006 12:44 AM

if i had a better reference for friction coeficient i could optimize it to the grip of my tires but this still doesnt take into acount wheel hop i get if i realy lay into it from a start.i obviusly havent done this to often as the dif still works knock on wood but once or twice just to see what she would do:bigtu: :eek4:

magnamx-5 10-23-2006 06:30 PM

yeah i need to get a torsen and test that software agianst real life.:bigtu:
