So to get these pinouts correct... for the 96-97 that diagram is as if u are looking into the 64 pin connector. the ones labled 3 are the middle section and the ones labeled 2 are the ones on your left? im just somewhat confused of the orientation.
Edit: also, so did you solder the wires to the connectors? and on the grey connectors... you simply strip the wires put them all in and close up the connector? I may sound stupid but i dont want to mess this up, sorry! |
You solder the pins on the large female connector. You strip and crimp pins on the other end, then insert them in the male connector.

One other question, general MS thing:
DIYAutoTune sells a boost controll 'mod kit', just a couple of transistors and a diode or something. Is this the same for a MS-II? The guy there says it's for MS-I but I can't imagine it's very different..... Still sinking the same amount of current no matter the electronics driving it. Ordering tonight, Go Team Me! |
That is going to be a question for MSEFI.com unless arga knows.

FWIW, C31 and C32 are for the variable reluctor (VR) circuit and are not needed with our Hall Input mods. You can still install all of the VR mods and choose what you want via jumpers but they're not used with our mods.
(They can be removed from the colorful assembly diagram.) Looks good elesjuan. |
No idea. Sadly, I'm still NA. I seem to remember EBC still on the alpha or beta development list for MS2E for software.
Here's the hardware info: http://www.msextra.com/ms2extra/MS2-...ware.htm#boost |

However, from a purely hardware standpoint it doesn't matter which μP you're using or which firmware is on it. To drive a boost control solenoid you'll still need a high-current FET, and that's primarily what the MK-Boost modkit consists of. No harm in installing it now, in the hope that a future firmware release will support it. |

I would recommend looking at the gray plugs from the back and looking at the diagram while wiring them then solder them to the large yellow connector. It just alleviates the confusion with the orientation. |
this is why i labeled the flat and slotted side. use the large .070" pins as markers to make sure you aren't looking at it backwards.

Ordered up my computer, free beer for everyone! Er, assuming most of you can't make it down. :-P
Now I have to start paying attention to details, so depressing. And I need injectors in a big way. |
Oh, and I had an idea, see what you all think... Since I already have a second injector for each cyl, mounted in the manifold, it's a 300cc injector.. Maybe I could run the two injectors in parallel, with the OEM's at ~250 then I'm running ~550 cc's per cylender.

That will work. You could just batch each cylinder with the aux injector.
|
do i need to set the ignition settings in this screen:
http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Ex...es/codebas.GIF I saw this in the manual |
Yes. You don't use led 18 for spark though. You can change that to warmup.

Step 2:
Configure MegaTune to 'see' the MSnSE software. Open the MSnSE folder in "EFI" and run the "copyini" application. Once the file has been copied close the DOS window.
Edit: NVM i got it working by changing the settings directly in the configurator. |
