Reroute hose; kia neck to radiator, no hard line needed

Didn't know which of the many reroute threads to put this in, but I thought I should share.

Autozone part XL 1215; It goes from kia water neck to radiator. No hardline is needed and it routes nicely.

is there any area where the hose rubs that may be a problem?

Reverend Greg 04-25-2010 11:59 PM

Is that an escalade part by any chance?

No, towards the rear it is able to avoid the shelf. It dips below the manifold. I am proabbly going to get one of those rubber hose clamps and secure it to one of the open intake manifold support bracket holes. It clears everything up at teh radiator, but I don't believe my radiator is stock. Not sure what brand radiator it is.

I bought the hose planning on cutting it up and installing a hard line. I couldn't believe it when it fit "as is".

Not sure. I went behind the counter and picked it based on the overall shape.

Stealing your coolant hose idea. I was going to use a metal pipe. Too bling bling for my tastes. Returning it today maybe. Thanks.

What else did you do other than block off the front therm housing and the spacer?

More pics!

kewilso3 05-09-2010 09:09 PM

in for finished pics

miatauser884 05-09-2010 11:31 PM

As far as the reroute goes: I used the space and removed front housing. I'm still drawing water from the front via a nipple. I think you can see it in my build thread. If not, then I'll have to post more pics.

I paid $15.99 for my hose Tuesday night at the local AutoZone.

ianferrell 10-25-2010 12:55 PM

Just picked on up from autozone, the xl1215 number is not on the hose, but they can look it up by that number... at which point you get the dayco e71989, which apparently goes to almost every gmc truck from 2000-2006 (sierra and yukon, 1500-3500... listing is showed on the advanced page) A lot of those cadillac hoses look like good fits too.
