I remember seeing a post stating that there's only one street tire that will fit... Quick google search will answer that .

225mm = 8.85"

Not "stretched". Just tensioned properly.

My 15x9 wheels were busy so I tried some 225/45-R15 Hankook Z214s tires I already had on the 15x10s. I used these at the track this last weekend.

Yes less emphasis on the stretch (not what I am after) and more emphasis on the fact that they worked. I did not notice any degradation in grip compared to the same exact tires on a 15x9. They felt great. I did have a problem with the rear tires being hot in the centers compared to the edges of the tread. They were set at what I normally use for starting cold pressures. I ran 2-3 lbs less pressure to compensate and they were still warmer in the center of the tread, ~10 deg F, measured with a Longacre probe type pyrometer. Interesting. It could be completely unrelated to the wheels but worth noting.

I cannot say there was a big increase in grip either since there are too many other variables involved to be certain: different track, different weather, one of the front tires was new, different suspension adjustments, etc..

Knowing you, you'd try and put 185s on a 15x10 wheel

The only reason I have stretched tyres atm is because of budget considerations.
I've got some flares to fill and I'm looking for wheels.
If the R888 don't stretch too much for the 10's I'm going for them :P.

If budget is your main concern, r-comps wide enough to fit a 15x10 wheel for a DD car seem like a smart move then...

It was back then when I didn't feel the need to get a wider tyre that cost more than twice as much, if the 195 one looked fine as well.
The car isn't really a daily driver, it's just my only car, but I don't really ''need'' a car.

I'm sure it's fail boat, however, I'm going to ask it anyway: Any chance of running this set up on stock sheet metal or is it full blown mexi-poke?
