Does anyone know if 15x9 rims with 0 offset will fit the rear of my 93 miata? I'm looking at xxr 002's to buy but don't know if they will fit. If so what size tire will I have to buy or will I have to custom fit them? Will I be able to lower my car an inch or two? Thanks!

You want 225 tires on a 9" rim, but you'll probably stretch the 205s since you don't want race tires and you'll need the stretch to fit them under your ghetto pulled fenders since you're choosing a retarded offset.

Yes they will fit, with a flat roll and light pull. However you will need a ton of camber and it won't be ideal. I've seen photos of this offset with tire on cr.net. Not my style.

Where does he ask anything about 205's? Just because Curly jumped on him doesn't mean you need to ride his sack into battle. Give the kid a chance. We've all looked at (or look at) 0et wheels. I'll probably end up on 15x8/15x9 staggered wheels for street duty since I'm flared in back and no one is willing to make a nice 245+ street tire (though the 235 R888 is looking tempting)

Eunos- Buddy, you need to do a lot more searching before posting in here. Although this site has a ton of great info, its also testosterone filled and ready to...... blow....

I was really liking the staggered xxr 002's on eBay 15x8/15x9 but they only offer them 0 offset so I wanted to know if they will fit or will I have to a little to make them fit or alot. And if so what size tire wouldn't I have to use. I really don't want to stretch a tire or camber the crap out of it if I don't have to !

Are you looking for straight line traction? You'll be limited to Mickey Thompson ET streets in either the 225-50-15 or the 275-50-15 but I don't know that the bigger 50s will work on a 15X9 with rolled fenders. Probably need flares or you're looking at the 225-50-15. And in that case you can just go with the 15X8.

Yea I'm just trying to go straight but If I can do 225/50/15 I wouldn't mind rolling my fenders but it would probably have to be at stock hight I'm guessing!

This may help you. this is a horrible pic but you will get the idea. Theses are 16X10 "0" offset or 5.5" backspace what ever you want to call them. They stick out almost two inches in the back and 1.75" in the front. This is with no camber adjustment and the car is only 2.5" lower than stock. I will be running N2 flares so they will fit perfect for that. If you buy a 9" wide wheel with a zero offset they will only be 1/2" less than these on the out side. I think the most you could get away with and use is 8" 0 offset.m Sorry for the horrible pic. Oh and these are 205/50R16 tires stretched like a champ.

Alright, I'll give a serious answer since it looks like you didn't know how horrible of a offset 0 is.

Try to stay away from the ebay XXR wheels, they're not the strongest or prettiest. There's a big number of $95-$130 15" wheels out there, including a 7" 6ul. There are a few 8" wheels even.

ON RIM SIZE:
With 7" rims, you're maxed at 205s, or ballooned 225s, which we'll make fun of your for too.

With 8" rims, you're golden. 205s are barely stretched (but we won't laugh), 225s are right at home.

With 9" rims, you'll be faster with the 225 vs. the 225 on a 8", but you can't (shouldn't) fit all the bargain 205 tires.

With 10" rims, you're baller. 225s are slightly stretched (we won't laugh), but now you can fit amazing 245 tires, which are hardly available currently.

ON TIRE WALL SIZE:
205s are easy, just buy 205/50-15s, there are plenty of options and it's a perfect fit. For 225s, stock diameter is 225/45-15, but you only have race tires available, the cheapest being RS-3s, which are constantly sold out and still $120(?) each. You can fit 225/50-15s, which have a few sub $100 options, but they'll obviously be taller than ideal. You will have to run higher suspension settings, but you can definitely be lower than stock.

Here's me on 225/50s on 7" wheells, KYB AGX shocks, FM lowering springs, NB hats, and .66" spring spacers:

That top image is about as low as you can go on stock fenders, I had the liners removed and a few tabs bashed out of the way, but otherwise, no roll or pull. Any lower and they'd rub. Notice the ballooning of the 225s on a 7" rim, as well as the relatively conservative offset, I believe -36. Imagine if they stuck out another 1.4" (0 offset), you probably would have to run stock suspension.

The 6UL is god around here, and for good reason. The 225/45 works GREAT on the 15x9's. The 205's work GREAT and 225/45's work well on the 15x8's.

Curly, I'm glad you made the switch. Those 225/50's looked horrid on your little smurf compared to the rest.

See I say no ideal. It's too much stretch for me, and when I was buying wheels, ignoring money, I didn't want to look retarded every time I used 205 tires, I just don't like that look. Since 8" also worked great for 225s, I went with them.

I'm sure they worked great, so I guess it's just an aesthetics thing for me.

I had 15x8 +15 offset with 205 star specs for daily use. Only a fender roll needed @ 12.25" height. Mild camber. Pretty grippy for daily/autox use. Back then they were sportmax wheels.
