I've only done 2 races (about 6 total sessions) on my S1's. How many sessions do you usually get out of an S1 baring a monster curb hit or other rim ending moment?
Action shot of them in use: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...cecf6ea775.jpg |
I have raced at least 2 seasons on the S1 with Aero and 225 Z214's and NT01's. No cracks, no problems.
Will keep an eye on it but seems okay. |
I ordered a set of S1s for my street car before seeing this thread. Should i be nervous about cracks driving on Michigan roads?

I've tracked several sets of S1s for a few years now. No cracks present on any of them currently *knockonwood*
My car has ripped the front oem subframe apart, eaten a couple of bearings, hub failures, and experiences lots of curbs. |
Realized I've been negligent in responses here. I mark my rims with the number of sets of tires they have worn out using white paint. The cracks on my S1s became evident at around the 8th set of tires. I'm not particularly "easy" on my rims.
I haven't established a timeout criteria for the S2s yet. |
I've gone through 2 sets on my S1's with no issues so far.

Hmmm, Good-Win shows S1's but not S2's. Actually, I don't find any on-line sellers that have S2's in stock. Maybe I just did not try hard enough?

There are other options for wheel styles.
|
Looks like the S2 was discontinued.
The Konig Dial-In is nearly identical to the S-2 as far as hub design/features/number of spokes. Konig and Advanti wheels are from the same company (YHI International). YHI bought the Konig brand some 15 years ago. Advanti is their "home" brand. Right now, I'm running a set of Dial-Ins and a set of S2s as my "dry wheels," and a set of S1s as "wet wheels." Anyway, keep inspecting your wheels . . . . |
I have 6ULs and S1s, both of which I keep a close eye on. I'm looking at the Dekagrams for the next set of replacements...
|
I'm probably going to pick up a set of konig freeform's for the street here in a bit, and keep the s1's for track work until they're done.
|
I'm eyeing the Dekas in 15x9 as well... Guess there are no reported problems with them?
|
They're still pretty new, probably too early to tell. They are definitely beefier where it counts than the S1s, and don't induce that weird pre-vomit watery-mouth feeling that S2s do.
I'm moving to them over winter. |
