185/70/14s on the MX

Ok i have treid runing the usual search option but to no avail so here goes, dumb noobs first post tada :loser:

so i have just bought me a 91 miata with a Greddy turbo kit, some of you may have seen it form the gallery. I live in Helsinki, Finland and well winters are less than friendly round these parts and by law we have to run "winter tyres" in the appropriate season.

Now i have here in my Garage a set of Nokian studded winter tyres in excellent condition alas the size is a step up from the std on the car.(185/70/14)

Has anyone run oversized rubber on theirs and noticed any issues other than the obvious that my speedo will read slow? from my calculations i am only about 6-7% out so nothing too bad and still within the 10% rule of thumb.

feel free to flame suitably but i have tried to find other threads on this topic.

It'll work fine, I've run 225/50-15 and they were huge compared to my stock 14's, definitely bigger than 6-7%.

(Sent from phone via capitalism)

We've fit 225/50 15 onn the rear..couldn't fit front...but slammmed

Cheers Curly, actually your size only works out as 5% bigger but good to know.
