I have these in 225/45/15 and am happy with them overall. The issue I'm having is that after about 3000 miles and about 5 AutoX events, they seem to be getting hard and not gripping as good as they had before. They still have a lot of tread on the tires, but traction is an issue. On a second note, I do notice that these change greatly when the temperature changes. I live in Maine and the weather is currently in the 20's in the morning with temps near 50 during the day. In the mornings, I have to be careful with the throttle because if I get on it too much the rear end swings out really easy on dry pavement, if wet it's even worse. I'd buy them again, just wanted others to know.

GRAVE DIGGER.
Year old thread, so surely someone can comment on DD/interstate driving in the rain. I've seen "Bad on the track in the rain", and "Not as good as the Z1 in the rain" Due to family working at Michelin, I get a discount. So I'm debating to get another set of the 320TW Comp2's I have now that I expect to be finished in a few months after around ~25k miles, or a set of 205 Rivals. Daily driven, either all city or all interstate depending on the time of year. 15x6 NB wheels. Don't hate. |
Have been DDing 225 rivals for about a year and a half. They are not bad in the rain at all. Just don't drive like an asshat and they won't give you any problems. I live in the Florida so I've driven in a lot of rain.

"Not driving like an asshat" is a solution to so many things.

About how many miles in that year and a half? How's the tread/are they still sticky or have you noticed them starting to cycle out? |
A little over 20k miles. 10 track days. I did notice that they were losing grip this last time at Sebring. However, there is enough tread to do the weekend at Daytona and probably get me through December before I replace them.

Good to hear, I really didn't think they would last anywhere near that long and had kind of written them off as a dd/1xmonth autocross because of it.
I very well may end up wrapping my 6uls in better tires when they come in instead of compromising with dz102s. Thanks |
