I love the idea of these tires as a good Hoosier alternative, I found out about Maxxis through a friend that races his GTO and a host of BMWs (e30 and e36). Then I saw a bunch of guys on the bike trails with Maxxis tires as well.
I wish they made these pre-grooved for street use, but as I was discussing in my other thread, I don't know if road use will get them to operating temps and they might just be dangerous for my needs.

I just got an email from John Wu saying the tires are on the water but that the Long Beach workers are throwing another fit so well be at their mercy when the container is available, should be soon though.

245/40/15 RC-1 Miata fitment
NA on 15x10: Mini flares or heavy pull front and rear.
Few know this but our 15x10 +25 offset was optimized for this exact tire, three years before it was available, not the 275/35/15 Hoosier as most folks would guess.

As a review since previous information varied, are those the only mods needed? I've wanted to go 15X10 for the meatiness but I thought there were other suspension or control arm mods needed.
Asking about NB's specifically. Looks sick on that red one, and I'm sure grip is amazing.

No shop will groove a tire that has been run. They're concerned about gravel damaging the blades of the grooving tool. Has to be a sticker. Some will want them mounted, others not. Look for shops that do dirt track stuff. They all hand groove tires.

245/40/15 RC-1's
We've been hiding these for a while now. Testing completed a few months ago, green light for production and boom, they're here. The final production version seen here is about 15mm wider than the P1 (prototype 1) shown in the OP. Squished but will work on 9's but really happiest on 10's.

For a track car, what's the approximate hp break where the extra inertia and rotating mass of the 10" wheel with wider tire makes sense? Compare 9" UL with 225 RC1 vs 10" UL and 245. Consider a track like Buttonwillow or Laguna seca on a 2000# car.
