anyone running sportmaxx oo2s?

pretty keen on getting a set of xxr 002s 15x8s 0 offset going to need some guard rolling i guess. car is on apexi springs 30mm lower than factory.keen to slam it another inch or so

viperormiata 10-21-2012 02:48 AM

Have fun with your heavy wheels, shit tires, tiny contact patch and mangled fenders.

jimmyneutron 10-21-2012 02:50 AM

really that bad? bet not as bad as my 17s on it atm

albertogti117 10-21-2012 02:54 AM

0 offset on an 8 inch wheel requires quite a bit of pulling/rolling. There's plenty of pictures of them on miatas

jimmyneutron 10-21-2012 02:56 AM

i know what they look like just wondering ho much work to make them fit

I know right, don't trust anyone with <5 posts.

All depends on if he is the typical stretching idiot that asks about sportmax. But I tracked on 002s with 225 NT01s just fine. I prefer cheap/disposable wheels.

Expect to flare if you run a real tire... if you are a drifting/street slammed looser... just hammer it out and run stupid stretched stuff to fit.

Boost93 10-21-2012 02:35 PM

U guys are harsh....u might want to go to CR.net with this thread o.p.....

jimmyneutron 10-21-2012 07:06 PM

yeah might have to go for some other wheels just really liked the look of them i could get them in 7 inch wide but thats much less dish. still dont think it would be worse than the 17s honestly. cheers for your thoughts though

Boost93 10-21-2012 08:26 PM

Ive been having same problem finding wheels...I want something light, but looks good with a lip...Was looking at Konig spools which are 12.5 to 13.1lbs depending on finish...Rota Grid v but the look I want only comes in a 15x8 et0...so Ive decided to order the Real Deal Volk TE37 V 15x8 et 25....only 11lbs... Steplip FOR THE WIN...

Performance does not revolve around asthetics. Worrying about asthetics is not worring about performance. Worrying about how much "dish" a wheel has is like putting premium fuel in a stock NA Miata and thinking it'll make a diffence on Mt. Akina when the Red Suns challenge you.

18psi 10-22-2012 12:02 PM

Bro I needz dat lip doe

Going for looks and performance...Win-Win:2cents:

jimmyneutron 10-23-2012 02:23 AM

boost93 you seem to understand where i am coming from. I'm not really interested in full out performance. I want to change what my car looks and handles like as it is because I'm not happy with it.

I have seen tons of miatas running these wheels and i realize there will be lots of work to make it work but its just a genuine question nothing more than that. I don't want my car to scrape and be impractical but i appreciate the look of a low car even if it wont be best for performance.

Doppelgänger 10-23-2012 08:11 AM

If you're willing to "make lots of work" to fitting wheels, why not get some 15x9 or 15x10 6ULs and get functional? Leave the 0-offset shit to the bandwagoneers...unless by doing work you really mean installing flares so you can run a 225 tire on those 0-offset wheels.

This is not the forum for you. We are going to ridicule you incessantly, I recommend you go back to Club Roadster because that's more your speed. Believe it or not, "Miatatuirbo.net" is not about stretching wheels or touching men, it's about turbocharging Miatas.

Well I guess it's about time for you to head over to CR as well

jimmyneutron 10-24-2012 01:21 AM

Well I'm working on the turbo setup as-well but found some wheels. I aren't interested in it being a "poser car" either I get enough shit for having a miata anyway.

Im having enough problems with the turbo setup as it is.

Oil leeks everywhere,
wideband not synching with ms,
not having a clue how to tune a car,
this is a good forum to sort my other issues out.

sorry for pissing you guys off with my noob questions il leave them for now

Doppelgänger 10-24-2012 08:30 AM

If you're not interested in being a poseur, you definitely don't want those wheels. There is plenty if nice, inexpensive wheels out there.

Oil leaks everywhere? There are really only 3 potential places for this- oil feed, the turbo and the oil return. None of those should be a problem to fix.

dk wolf 10-24-2012 08:32 AM

lots of vaginal discharge here from OP and other noob.

a fire couldn't cleanse your taste

I did my time, ------. Aren't you just a hard-parking douchebag anyway?

nuroski 10-24-2012 12:51 PM

stretching tires has no real function except you look like every other car mostly hondas and it looks dumb and a waste a money spend your money better than that i had 002s an sold them as fast as i got them and could say that was the best choice i made for my car. i agree with whats been said about me get the meat to the ground not 205s stretched on heavy wheels

jimmyneutron 01-30-2016 03:35 PM

Lol fully forgot about this thread. Its amazing how much you actually learn when you shut up and read. Plus the car has taken a very different state. After reading some of the other wheel threads it actually is sad the options for decent light wheels and decent tires (225 45 15) over here.We can't get these apart from an R comp which I dont have any use for on the street as the car is used in winter. I really should weigh my old 17s compared to the 15 inch storms will be a big difference :)
