drift setup help

hey everyone im new to this forum but i have a question i plan on using raceland ultimos coils and sit pretty low wondering what the perfect fitment would be for drifting i was planning on using 15x8 with 195/45/15 stretch but you need spacers so im thinking on a 15x9 set up with 195/45/15 stretch let me know what you think would be a good fitment for rain sliding and some donuts on the dry pavement thanks! and the car is a 1997 na miata im also on a budget not planning on building a formula car for being only 16 and making 4k by myself and buying a miata for 3k and having money for parts i wanna go the cheap route

Is this what's known as a "hat trick?"

Braineack 10-30-2013 10:52 AM

curbs and guardrails don't make the best drift cars.

Use can use a hammer and save yourself the effort of ramming it into wall the legit way.

nitrodann 10-30-2013 10:53 AM

Hat trick is only 3 of something.

This is like... 5 or 6.. 8?

wasnt asking for smart comments just help and ive slid a 92 foxbody around built with alot bbk parts pretty sure it had a 306 cam but im just asking what the best fitment and tire specs would be for a good daily and rain slider

concealer404 10-30-2013 10:56 AM

15x11 -13 wrapped with 165/50-15 Walmart tires. You'll slide e'er'wurr.

Braineack 10-30-2013 10:56 AM

you said:

i wanna go the cheap route
.

so i suggest use a hammer to ruin your car instead of paying money to crash into guard rails impressing no one.

I thought crashing and running without body panels was the point of drifting.

concealer404 10-30-2013 11:44 AM

Oh, to be 16 years old again.

18psi 10-30-2013 11:56 AM

OP is the reason my current will be my last miata.

step 1: post your hello and welcome in the "meet and greet" section
step 2: cut a hole in the box
step 3: fail and post here instead and fall victim to the real world.

FRT_Fun 10-30-2013 01:49 PM

This thread is worth getting banned over by breaking "be nice to noobs in the meet and greet section" rule.
EDIT: Oh shit this isn't in the meet and greet section.

OP: Go fuck yourself.

18psi 10-30-2013 01:51 PM

 oh yeah thread finally going in the right direction

Haven't seen one of these in a while. I wish amateur drifting had a higher mortality rate.

Well I was asking about wheel and tire specs so i thought I should post here....

Full_Tilt_Boogie 10-30-2013 11:36 PM

If you were interested in going fast, this would be a good place to post.

I'm still blown away at the thought of drifting a naturally aspirated Miata, with stretched tires. HTF?
