Getting Trmotorsport C1M. Thanks Tire Rack.

As stated. I also got a set of 205/50/15 Kumohs for my 96 N/A.

I did alot of searching before I ordered them just to make sure that the +30 offset would not affect anything. I am at stock height. Right now I am running heavy-ass 16x7 with 205/45/16 +40's on them. They were on it when I bought it.

So. Lee from Tire Rack; I guess, had some concerns. So HE... decided to Put a hold on my order. I was not happy, but I understand that he was just looking out for me. I appreciate that T/R.

He said that it was possible that I would have to roll the fenders. Now this goes against everything I read. Did I miss something?

Well they are on their way and should be here by Friday.

I would just like to double check with you guys that they will fit without issues.
Please help me out.
Thanks. Jay.

Braineack 09-28-2010 11:40 AM

That's funny, the whole point to these wheels were to fit a miata.

blackna 09-28-2010 11:45 AM

Yeah right? I was so pissed that he called. I thought I really covered my ass; until he got involved. Now he has me second guessing my decision.

gospeed81 09-28-2010 11:46 AM

cr.net question

waahhhh...:fawk: Lol. Well thats actually comforting.

When I called, I got some other guy who said he didn't know why He(Lee) did that. He saw nothing wrong with the settup.

6ULS are out. They cost to much for me pocket. I allready bought these.

Braineack 09-28-2010 12:05 PM

BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU. They are going to send you Victory Wheels.

02semiata 09-28-2010 12:07 PM

ooo I though they held your order. My bad. OOO btw They make the c1 and the c1M I think the M stands for miata so they should fit no problem. They are 6ul knock offs lol.

blackna 09-28-2010 12:12 PM

Yes. They were going to hold the order. As soon as I got the email I called them and its being shipped out today. I'll have them by friday.

They do list them as C1M.

Not funny Braineack.

Braineack. Your not by any chance on any harley forums? Are you?

18psi 09-28-2010 12:14 PM

My experience with that place was great btw. Would highly recommend to everyone. The guy called me, I gave the go-ahead, and had my wheels the very next afternoon. Everything went silk smooth.

No, the Brain is scared of bikes.

blackna 09-28-2010 12:27 PM

I'm not saying that I had an unpleasant buying experience. I am quite happy with them. I'm just saying that Lee gave me a scare that the wheels would rub.

I was just asking you guys if I would be allright without doing any fender rolling. I am commited to these wheels either way. I love them. they are cheap and light for the money. So if I have to roll, then so beit.

So I should be good then???

18psi 09-28-2010 12:38 PM

My c3ms don't rub and they are 15x9 +36.
Only time they "rub" is at full lock when they touch the rail on the fronts.

So ya. You should be good.

jacob300zx 09-28-2010 12:53 PM

They would have a lot easier time if they could access 949racing's wheel fitment guide...lol

hustler 09-28-2010 01:57 PM

They should have called Emilio/949 and asked him if their wheels would fit; you can probably look on his website and figure it out yourself.

This is a great demonstration of the free market. Sure, TireRack can wait for someone else to do all the research but when it comes down to selling borrowed knowledge, abject failure takes over and the consumer. Hail to the free market and the small business who triumphs again.

hustler 09-28-2010 02:01 PM

I need to make a bogus wheel-fitment guide and send it to TR.

Maybe...maybe NOT

Having significant experience with tons of different wheel/tire setups on na's and nb's(I have rolled fenders on more than 25 miatas and I have 5 miatas in my stable), @ +30 you are likely to have a bit of fender rub on those tires. I have never ran that setup, nor have I seen it on another car, but 205/50's are pretty tall, so ride height and camber might come into play.

Any wider than 205 and yes, NO doubt you will rub bigtime. My +30 ATS wheels w/225/45/15 tires BARELY cleared my rolled and mildly pulled front fenders. 205's on the same offset wheel will be *very* close to the lip, especially if you are running low and have minimal negative camber.

don't be-a-scared, if you tear up your tires you can blame TR:giggle:

modernbeat 09-28-2010 07:07 PM

That's what you get when you deal with the Wal-Mart of the tire & suspension world.

On regards to fitment, I have the C1Ms with 205s on my 94 and they fit fine with my r-package bilsteins. This shock/ spring combo is a lower ride height than a stock 96, but i don't know if you are still on stock suspension. Now I have flex and I am at 12"f and 12.25" rear and the fronts needed to be rolled. So if you are at close to stock ride height, you should be fine.

ianferrell 09-28-2010 09:48 PM

My brother has c1m wheels and kumho asx in 205/50/15... no problem, he's on konis w/ ground controls, and its maybe 1/2" lower than stock, but really... they fit pretty damn well.

We kicked around the idea of doing just that.

I am stock height gentlemen. Sorry, I should have mentioned that. I'm not sure if I'm going to lower it or not. She is my DD and I am getting the R model lower spoiler in the mail any day now. I don't want to risk scraping it all up.

So if I do lower it at all; I was planning on getting the R suspension. I am more into filling up the fenderwells at stock height than slamming it down. Jersey roads are not very kind.

Thankyou all for your input. I'll let you all know on friday how its going.

jacob300zx 09-29-2010 03:37 PM

Whats up with this board being filled with non interesting members and cars lately?

New top, TR wheels, 205 all seasons, R lip, cruise control, and r package suspension, can't roll fenders, can't find an all season to fit the 15x9's, I like young boys, sound like a sick build...lol

I apologize for any confusion our call caused. Our intention was to make sure you would be happy with your wheels and tires when they arrive.

Unfortunately not everyone researches their purchases as thoroughly as you have and so we ere on the side of caution when reviewing orders. We don’t expect the application to rub but on rare occasion on a car that may not be “straight” it does.
The other concern is the look. The low offset and wider tire fill up the fender well more that the some other fitments. It’s a great look and most people like it, especially if you are willing to force extra air into your cylinders. ;) For some it is too aggressive, it does through more road debris on the side of the car and sits out from the body of the car as it curves under.
We don’t know in advance what is your personal preference.

We call because of our testing (we have an mechanical engineer (an ND grad and a club racer) on staff and cad/cam tools we use to measure wheels and vehicles) and feedback we receive from customers. We’ve found it is easier for customers if we address concerns and correct possible issues before the product arrives than to have to ship product back and forth. A five minute phone call can save time in the long run.

I traced your order and UPS shows the wheels and tires out for delivery today. There is a delay in reporting at times so they may have been delivered.

I appreciate your business and expect that you will love the new wheels and tires.

Oh looky who's here:)

hustler 09-30-2010 03:26 PM

Is the wheel fitment guide no longer included in your shipments? My buddy received a fitment instruction sheet with his TR 15x9's. You can always order a 6UL and use their data for fitment since the dimension are pretty similar.

blackna 10-01-2010 06:31 AM

Tim.

Way to go above and beond here. I see that you joined just to explain things. I appreciate that to no end.

I understand why Lee wanted to check up on this order. I guess I got alittle offended, in that he thought I didn't know what I was buying. I'm sorry for that. I know not everyone pays attention to offset and I jumped the gun.

What really got me was, I was expecting delivery by Friday and was being told that it was put on hold. Well I got them thursday. A day earlier than expected. Thank you. They look awesome.

I did do alot of research. Thats why I wanted a +30. I like a wide stance. This being a daily driver I wanted to go as wide as possible without needing an insane camber alignment. So today is the day that I will be putting them on. I just got home from work here @6am so off to sleep for a few. Thanks again Tim.

sanravel 10-08-2010 02:08 PM

I have General UHP 205s on the C1Ms and haven't had any fitment issues with the shocks or fenders. I have Koni sports and stock springs at the moment.

blackna 10-08-2010 08:44 PM

I've had these wheels and tires on for a week and have had no issues either.Thanks.

GeneSplicer 10-08-2010 11:33 PM

+1 for 6ULs and +10 to the man who designed them (and the copied C1Ms)

I have the C1M's (+30) on my stock height '90 MA with Dunlop Direzza's in 195-50-15. They fit fine ... no rolling necessary, and I'm pretty sure my shocks are far from new, so there might be a bit of sag there.

The Dunlops hang just about perfectly ... about as far out as you can go without actually being outside the fender. You can't pass inspection here if the tires are outside the fender any amount.

I weighted the tires, rims, valve + lugnuts ... 33 lbs.

Tire Rack did the same thing to me ... as I understand it, they will do that on any non-stock offset or diameter because they don't want people sending them back. If it's close, they're going to give you the warning. I can give them that.

Here's some photo's to check out with those wheels/tires (it's OK if you laugh at the muffler ... I do. Car came that way; haven't changed it yet).

EDIT: Missed your post where you said they had arrived and are installed. I'll leave the photos for posterity in case someone else digs through this thread later.
