Just saw these new 245/45 achilles ATR-K sport. wondering if anyone has had experience with these before? might be another cool option for 245 if you can fit the 45 aspect ratio.
Thoughts?

Except we can't -- 23.86" diameter.

Too tall for 99.99% of NA/NB Miatas regardless of what anyone else says.

Those would fit an ND miata.

How much are they and where can they be purchased? Searched and didn't see them for sale anywhere.

Found them online below...

STREET AND TRACK TIRE | TOYO Tires, ACHILLES TIRES, Race tire, Mazda Miata, Spec 911

Interesting. I'm loving my Maxxis VR1's in roughly the same size. These are tempting for the same price though.

245/45 is "roughly" the same size as 245/40 in the same way that a 5" ***** is "roughly" the same size as an 8" *****.

Interesting, please explain. Why would a 5mm height change be that big of a difference? Not being sarcastic, I actually want to understand.

I get the basics of tire height, but I didn't think a 5mm change would be that noticeable.

Thanks!

What makes you think it's a 5mm difference?

Aspect ratio is a percentage of width.

245/40 = sidewall height of 40% of 245mm, or 98mm.
245/45 = sidewall height of 45% of 245mm, or 110.25mm

Every Miata on a 23" race tire polishes the top of the fender and shock tower. Adding 12mm to that will cause some very serious interference issues which cannot easily be solved.

Okay, gotcha. Yeah then I have no idea. I was thinking the 40 vs 45 was basically a 5mm difference in height not a percentage. Thanks for the education!

These are for sale at Evasive Motorsports. These Achilles are available in the weirdest 15" sizes around. I really don't know what car is their target.

Yeah some weird options, I see them mostly on civics and stuff. My buddy just picked up the 215 version of these. Well see how they perform on a weekend turbo miata.

That size is tall for a NA/NB miata. You want to stay as close to 23" as possible for the reasons that Savington already mentioned.

Is it a good deal if it can't be used well?

This would fit the rear of FBs and FCs, Z31s, Z32s, probably some Supras...
