So I was crusing through the web searching for my 15x9 options. Came up with the usual rota(no thanks), 949(seen way too many crack) and the tire rack wheel(is literally 16lbs)..

I then came across something kinda awesome! A Konig 15x9! I am really excited about this since I have been racing my 15x8 Konig Wideopens for a long long time and have never had any issues with them. Below I found the images linked from Konigs Facebook.

I also looked up RRF and it seems TSW, Forgestar, and several other high end manufacturers use this process. Well I called Goodwin and put a set of the 15x8s and 15x9s on back order. ETA is late January!

"Konig Dial In. This is the first 15" RRF Flow Formed wheel offering from Konig. That means it will be lighter, stronger and offers properties similar to those found in forged wheels. Will be available in 15x7, 15x8, 15x9 and offered in Matte grey and gloss black."

Saw good wins post a couple days ago, I'm digging the Konigs. I hope this is just the start for new wheels to come out in these sizes (and offsets)!

Lexzar 11-20-2013 09:50 PM

When you get them..I've been looking into konig wideopens... :jerkit:

Nice to have more choices in sizes we need! I wish the designs looked a bit better. The Konig had good potential but then the designer took some ecstasy and went nuts on the center of the wheel.

I think the Advanti would look good on a NB.

asmasm 11-23-2013 03:59 PM

It's too bad they have that ugly hub styling. Is a 15x8 +30 too aggressive for a low car with a wide tire like the rival? Also, I have always assumed konig wheels where tuner junk since they make knockoff wheels. Junk? Not junk?

I run Hoosier on my 15x8 +20 offset Konigs currently with zero fender modifications with an aggressive??(225 45 15s). What exactly classifies a wheel as junk? I have had my wheels through hell and back running slicks for years and haven't ever had an issue. My 949 wheels sketched me out seeing people snapping them so I would classify that wheel in the realm of junk but it seems like there are plenty of people on here who will smoke 949s pole.

z31maniac 11-25-2013 05:11 PM

I won't steal your thread, but I'll just mention I've been working with a company with a VERY reputable name in the racing wheel business to bring out new 15x8, 15x9, and possibly even a 15x10 options for the Miata.

You're such a tease..

But that's interesting.

z31maniac 11-25-2013 07:31 PM

Hehe, think about a company that has a very strange and hard to pronounce name, and you'll know who I have been working with.

We are finalizing the details, design, fitment, and pricing now. I hope to bring you guys something in the next 4 weeks.

They will be competitively priced and lightweight, flow-formed, and fit over the popular BBKs.

M.Adamovits 11-25-2013 08:33 PM

You're talking about Enkei, correct?

You and your games...

z31maniac 11-25-2013 09:45 PM

Ever heard of these guys? lol

No worries, I currently use Konigs on my own track car. I just know there are higher quality wheels out there.

Yup...Been to the shop and we talked about Miata wheels. Unless something changed $2.5k was the number being throw around for 3 piece wheels. The weights were not much different than the 949 wheel IIRC.

z31maniac 11-26-2013 06:39 AM

No we are doing a flow formed, 1 piece wheel. That will be price competitive with the 6UL and be available year round.

z31maniac 11-27-2013 01:37 PM

I have a rendering for the 15x9 now. I'll write up the details over the weekend and start a new thread.

18psi 11-30-2013 04:28 PM

Very nice. Would rock those, but only if the price is competitive.

Chilicharger665 11-30-2013 06:11 PM

15's are too small to let a mesh style wheel look good.

Then don't buy them? I personally don't give two shits what they look like (although I do think these look good), I want a lightweight, strong wheel that clears BBKs and is available year-round.

RussellT94 11-30-2013 06:48 PM

I appreciate you trying to do something new, but that redering looks very similar to a 6UL to me. What would be the selling points for this over the 6UL?

z31maniac 11-30-2013 06:51 PM

A concave face with no lip looks like a 6UL?

The big thing for me? After the initial production run, Jongbloed will keep them in stock year round.

18psi 11-30-2013 07:01 PM

I really like them and year round availability is great

The 15x9 will be ET35

Depending on the popularity, they may also do 15x8 and a 15x10

What the hell is this crap? Make your own thread or send a pm. With regards to your 949 wheels never being in stock. I agree, but I have never had an issue getting any of my Konig wheels and I've bought several different sets and styles over the years. Not to mention I would trust them being in business for 30 years vs. some guy on a miata forum trying to pitch a private lable wheel from a company he wont say.

Konig is made by YHI international, who also makes Enkei, Yokohoma, and OZ. Lets get back on topic.:makeout:

Good to hear. I need a set of 15x9's. Unfortunately my Google searching came up nada. So maybe a link to your source?

EDIT: Sorry, just re-read your first post and the wheels aren't currently available after all.

If the Konigs are in - any chance on a picture of the gold version? Would be great to see it on a black car, or just on it's own - hard to get a sense of what the shade of gold will be like.

Don't have time to put them on black car, but here you go with Gold Dial In 15x8 on black background.

You mean they are all companies under the same ownership. That doesn't make Konig as good as any of the other companies under the same umbrella. This is a lot like defending your run of the mill Volkswagen by saying it is from Volkswagen Group which also makes Porsches, Lamborghinis, and Bugattis. I would hardly compare them. Not to say that Konig doesn't make good wheels, it's just your statement is misleading.

Really not digging these at all, on any of those NAs or NBs. Even if they "fit", they don't fit either car.

Sometimes function > form.

And while these may not be the typical Miata style'd wheels... they do seem to be pretty contemporary.

Good-Win Racing LLC 04-22-2014 09:19 AM

I like the design...but as a vendor it is really not my own opinion that matters most to me. I must give the most weight to the opinions of those who vote with their wallets, and nothing has flown out of here faster, it's like the early days of 6UL around here this last two weeks.

First shipment flew out of here in a blink of the eye....already got second shipment set to arrive today!

Harv 04-22-2014 09:25 AM

If I didn't have 6ULs already I'd be going for these. The styling seems to be polarizing, but overall I could go for it. A friend is waiting for the 15x9 of one of either the Konig or Advanti.

I agree with this. If I had known about these last fall when I needed new wheels, I would have waited for them. I will be interested to see some more gray ones mounted up to NBs.

Kinda hard to buy these things when you don't return phone calls or emails. Been trying for over a week now.

Good-Win Racing LLC 05-29-2014 12:25 AM

Sorry for the frustration, I can assure you that we answer emails and phone calls. I would be happy to call you directly if you provide your number, or please call me during business hours, 9am to 5pm PST tomorrow at 858-775-2810 and I would be happy to help. I spoke to one caller three times today, so reaching me is certainly very possible. Phones get busy in the morning but by afternoon are usually wide open, phone log shows just 6 calls between 2pm and 5pm today.

Also, our website is always available to take orders and also has a Contact Us area where you can email us directly.

WAM 05-29-2014 01:47 AM

I'll give it another shot tomorrow. But whenever I call that number I get this very long recording, but no human. I left a couple messages last week.

And are you sure your 'contact us' site is working? I sent you a request over it just yesterday.

I didn't just use the order website because I wanted to arrange to pick up a set of tires and wheels at an upcoming Qualcom event. If you can make that happen.

Good-Win Racing LLC 05-29-2014 08:00 AM

I return every voicemail that includes a number that can be returned (an amazing number of folks forget to include a phone number in their voicemail or don't realize when their cell phone dropped their call before they got to it). I did get ONE voicemail about 2 weeks ago about the wheels from somebody asking about getting the wheels delivered to Qualcomm....and I did return that call twice but your voicemail would not take a voicemail when I called back, at least at the number you provided on the day I called. Sorry, I cannot deliver a set of wheels and tires to the stadium....but our head mechanic Rocky does work most weekends and we might be able to setup weekend pickup at the shop, which is right next to the 5 freeway, making it pretty easy to get them on the way, I would need to ask Rocky if he is working that day.

WAM 05-29-2014 10:28 AM

My answering machine works, but the handset voice quality isn't so hot. You probably couldn't hear the number clearly enough. I don't live down there, but belong to a local club. I'll see if I can get a clubbie to pick them up and bring them to an event.

Good-Win Racing LLC 05-29-2014 10:42 AM

Sounds good. My suggestion is skip the tires, get just the wheels from me because I would have space to bring just the boxed wheels to the event and that would likely make it much easier for a friend of yours to meet up with me at the event and return the wheels to you...and then ask a local tire shop near you to match the Tirerack price on the tires (or as close as they are willing to get, many shops will work with you as best they can on that).

WAM 05-29-2014 10:54 AM

There are reasons. We'll discuss it when you get in -- I left you a new phone msg with my number.
